    Yes, I realize that there is a Java chat, but I'm on PC and every time I'm scroll down the index page to the Who's Online list, I just feel like this feature should be added.

    With the addition of all the VM messaging and blogs and picture albums, etc, PC has really become quite the social network as well as a forum. I really feel you can compare it to facebook. And I really think that PC should have an equivalent to Facebook's "Chat" feature. If you don't know what it is, it's pretty much a private chat box with a friend that's online. But, as to make it so that random members can't go around spamming everyone with random messages, you are only allowed to strike up a private conversation with someone who's on your Friends List. Similarly to VMing.

    I dunno, just a thought. Maybe it's copying facebook too much, but hey, we've already got so many similar features, what's stopping us from this one?
     
    that and I don't think there is anything for vB that provides that function and that deeply..

    just thinking about, it sounds like it would be a major undertaking to get some sort of system working that's both secure and private, as well as one that is easy on resources, and easy for users to use.
     
    That makes sense, Rukario. I was afraid of something like that. I wasn't sure if it would even be possible for someone to write up their own type of code for it? I don't know how these things work hahaha, just putting it out there. Thanks for the civilized response. Ausaudriel, you should try to be as mature as Rukario because snarky remarks won't get you anywhere in life.
     
    Hmm since this is about chats. Would it be possible to change the original chat into like xat or something since its free. And looks nicer. Just a suggestion.

    The current chatroom is free and in my opinion much better than xat and other chat programs like chatango.
