After I learned of shinnies I always wondered what if Ashes pikachu was shinny or just had great stats. What do you guys think? What makes it special?

I suppose team rocket made pikachu special, and maybe its not a special pikachu at all.

He's a Paragon. That's why. He probably has that Pokerus thing that I've read about.

since pikachu is the mascot, thry have to make Ash's stronger then anything else tom trick little kids play the games to waste their time training a pikachu that can take 2,000 hits, they want to have an Uberchu like ash, even though w/o AR that is immposible, competativle pika fails to raichu

but it only failed the first time. after pikachu didnt want to evolve it beat raichu with agility, after ash learned that the gym leader evolved his too fast so his raichu never learned it.

thats simply a way for the writers to build upon pikas rep...

He meant that compared to competitive Raichu, Pikachu fails. Sure, it has Light Ball, but that doesn't save it from mediocre Spd.

To be honest, Pikachu's power is definitely above that of ordinary Pikachu, but Team Rocket were sorta tricked into thinking Pikachu had great power because of the incident at the Viridian Pokémon Center. They got a huge shock from Pikachu's Electric attacks.

You guys need to stop worrying about pokemon and turn to Jesus for the light.

Yes. Jesus made Pikachu strong. (He used his Gameshark)

Pikachu is just an above average Pikachu I suppose. Well above average.

Yes, huzzah for Jesus! Or is it Jebus this week?

I think it's just a super high-level rat when it started out. Or it's a freak, like Mewtwo. Yeah. It's a clone! Heh.

It also lost to Salon Maiden Anabell's Espeon, and Pyramid King Brandon's Registeel. The writers just make it stronger or weaker at certain points in the story to develop. Like if Ash didn't lose to Roark, he wouldn't have been able to learn a strategy from a complete newbie. When they want to progress quickly, they make Pika strong. When they want to do filler episodes for whatever reason, Pika fails. It's the basic rule of TV. What the writer says, goes. Plus its funny to see Ash act all cocky and then all of a sudden "I lost?"

Well basically, Pikachu is like Pokemon's mascot. So ofcourse it's like uber hacks.

    Spoiler:

Plus, you can't have a raichu sit on your hat.
But W/E its gamefreaks flagship pokemon so they can do whatever they want with it.

And you need to stop parading around the internet trying to be a Soldier of God. Just because we like pokemon doesn't mean we are going to burn in hell. Pokemon aren't devil spawn. How about you take that good ol' Christian "Hospitality" and start accepting the fact that just because you believe in Jesus, you can instanly win any argument? I think he could probably care less.

    Anime Definitely =/= Games
In the anime every pokemon is infinitely strong and entei can be beaten. Tsk tsk...

I think That Ash's Pikachu (or, as I prefer to call it, Pikachu Prime) is extraordinary. I mean, even in the Pilot episode, it was Implied that it was unlike any other in sheer power (remember when it took down an entire armada of spearow with one fell swoop near the end?) and besides which, It summoned a thunderstorm ALL BY ITSELF in the episode "Showdown in Dark City" (In case you are wondering what I'm meaning, usually Pikachu have to be in groups to even create a thunderstorm, but it clearly summoned a thunderstorm when Ash and co. were trying to stop both the yas and kas gyms from fighting.

    Also, off topic, but...

Umm... the games can have that too. If you have... like, a LV.100 caterpie, it definitely can have a chance at defeating an Elite 4 member. Plus, If you hit an Entei hard enough in the wild, or if you accidently attack it when it's HP is at it's lowest, you can faint it.

@Shedinjask: exactly what do you mean by "Competitive Raichu"? I mean, the last time I checked, Lt. Surge was definitely competitive. Otherwise, it wouldn't have even bothered to fight any of the pokemon it "Murdered" so to speak (not that it actually murdered them, but you know what i meant). and not to mention, it clearly enjoyed doing that, so the last time i checked, It is competitive.

I mean the games, not the anime.

    You can if you're huge.
