has anybody ever had the pokemon virus? i have it, it makes my pokemon grow in levels quicker! pretty good thing that!

I assume you're talking about pokérus and yes, I have had it.
And you're wrong, it doesn't make them grow levels quicker, it doubles the amount of EVs gained, which is much more useful imo _^^

Keep in mind, raichu_thunder, that the pokerus virus only lasts for a few days. What you need to do is still an infected Poke in your PC so you will continually have the virus spreading amongst your Pokes in that box.

As Smarties already stated, this is a great thing for trainers as it DOUBLES the EVs your Poke receives during a battle. This basically cuts your EV training in half, and if you have the Macho Brace, cuts it into a quarter of the time!

Even if you don't plan on doing EV training right now, make sure to keep the virus alive in your PC until that time comes. Believe me, it will be worth it.

I had it but mines never goes away YAH this is Emerald version I am talking about.

Uh... I have Emerald. I don't wanna risk keeping any of my infected Pokémon out, though.

The Pokémon Virus, or Pokérus, will only last a day. According to another thread, it's like the Cinderella thing - lasts until midnight of that day. If you want to keep it, just deposit the Pokémon in your PC before midnight and take it back out after midnight. This way, the timer will reset, thus basically making the Pokérus last forever.

Anyways, if you didn't already read my discussion about the Pokérus, I managed to get it twice within 5 hours from each other. (yes, I made sure that the second time I caught it I didn't bring any other infected Pokémon)

i have it and i stored all the pokemon in my pc.
if you keep the infected pokemon next to a clear one in your party it will catch it.
    how i got it?
i don't know my friend had just been on my game using action replay and then the icon that shows an unknown pokemon in the pokedex (the ?) came up in the wild i caught it and then my pokemon became infected creepy...

Wild Pokémon may have Pokérus, but it's almost three times rarer than shinies; even moreso since there's nothing visually different about a wild Pokémon with the Pokérus. You must use a contact move on the wild poke in order for your poke to catch it.

Once a poke has Pokérus, it has it forever, but it only spreads for the first 1 to 3 days (random, depending on the Pokémon) it has it for. This can be extended indefinitely by putting the infected poke in the box. For Pokémon with Pokérus that can still spread, on their status screen, you'll see "Status: PKRS" in the place where any other status (eg. Poison, Sleep) would go. If they have Pokérus, but it's no longer capable of spreading, they'll have a little black spot just right of the Pokéball on their status screen.

    ok....update to my story
when i saw the missingno i caught it and it turned into a bad egg...mabye it has something to do with that?

So the Pokerus is like 1/24576 chance of getting it. But one time when I threw my Ruby version on the floor. I turned it back on it say the battery dried out(you know what it says) and when I played all my Pokemon had Pokerus and it never went away because of time based events no longer accured. I am not sure that when I threw the game on the floor this has happend. I didn't catch any Pokemon before.

Yeah! My Pokémon caught the Pokérus just last night!!

I put 5 out of 6 Pokémon in my box, I used other Pokémon instead, and the virus spreaded to the other 5 via Wobbufet XD I have one infected Pokémon in each box XD (right now I just have a Goldeen in my team that hasn't been infected, but I'm taking my other infected Pokémon out of the box to play)

That's why I'm spreading it in the Party ;) I just leave the infected Pokémon in the boxes leaving just one in the party, then I take other Pokémon and battle a little.

oh, Skarmory got cured ;____; that's sad... But I have another 20 infected Pokémon!! >D hell yeah...

It's just that I left Skarmory the most time outside the box, beacuse I need it to fly (It's my only Pokémon that can do it, and I'm too lazy to teach it to one of my two Hoothoots or another birdie XD)
Well, my Goldeen actually never caught the Pokérus, that's sad...

I USE to have in my crystal, I had an Acinine that grows a level every time it battles then it learns a move every level. I sue to get a lot of pokemon from it.

Does this mean that if you put an infected pokemon into ONE box, then you can put it into another&&another box meaning ALL your pokemon have the virus.

the pokerus doesn't spread to the pokemon in your box, it can only spread to the pokemon in your team.
so if u have 1 infected pokemon in your team it will spread to the others, assuming of course the others haven't already had it.
putting it in the box makes it not go away, so u can spread it to other pokemon better.

the pokerus doubles the ammount of EV's you earn in battle.
it's really the same as holding the macho brace which does the same thing.
it's not a big deal, it's nifty for training very quickly but apart from that
    it's not a huge deal.

    you've confused me.
    You say:
the pokerus doesn't spread to the pokemon in your box
But then you contradict yourself by saying:
putting it in the box makes it not go away, so u can spread it to other pokemon better
    o.O so, i dunno

The pokerus CANNOT spread inside your PC. By putting it in the PC you can preserve the pokerus, quite literally forever. Once a Pokemon is infected, it has a limited time (1 day IIRC) that it can infect other Pokes in your PARTY. Once that time is up, it will still have the virus, but it will no longer be contageous. That is why you keep the Poke in your PC and then bring it out with 5 other unaffected Pokes to spread it to them.

Pokerus really is a big deal, if you are familiar with EV training. It can cut your training time by 75%! That is huge. For instance, if your Pokemon battles against a Clefable, without pokerus or Macho Brace, it receives 3 HP EV points. If it battles with the Macho Brace, it gets 6 HP EV points. If it battles with the MB and pokerus, it gets 12 HP EV points. That means it will take 84 battles in order to max out the HP EV stat (252 points) without the MB and pokerus, compared to 42 battles with the MB, compared to only 21 battles with both MB and pokerus, or SIXTY-THREE less battles. Huge.
