"Playing the Leveling Field!" Episode Discussion

    Here is where you can discuss the first appearance of the fabulous French lady, Fantina, in "Playing the Leveling Field!"

    My review to come forthwith.
     
    -Fantina's voice is a little annoying
    -Fantina is tough!
    -Stupid coin toss...
    -Jessie is an idiot
    -If pikachu had actually hit Drifloon or Drifblim he wouldve won
    -I HATE HYPNOSIS

    Good episode, battle was pretty cool
     
    -Melissa has a French accent and it's really annoying.
    -No title card?
    -The title card comes out of nowhere.
    -Ironically, Shock Wave can't miss in FR/LG.
    -Takeshi has and accent.
    -Volt Tackle is owned.
    -An evolution? Haven't seen that in a while since Gliscor.
    -And now Satoshi gives up.

    I noticed that PUSA and DuArt really like the French language.
     
    Charaxes, just curious..how come you say you would review the episode but you never seem to do that?
     
    Am I the only one who really liked Fantina's voice? D: I imagined something a little more low-pitched, but was pleasantly surprised.

    Also, haha at Ash losing. Now I really want to train a Drifblim... :x

    - I wondered how Fantina would sound, but the French accent seemed pretty obvious. I liked her voice..
    - *Is clueless as to what she's saying in French*
    - *Is clueless as to how she gets her hair like that*
    - Poor Glameow....Well, no, not really.
    - Jessediah!
    - Alan+Probopass cameo! Who would have seen that coming?
    - Battle time! Coin Toss! *drumroll* Ash first!
    - Coin Toss, again! *drumroll* Fantina first!
    - Drifloon FTW!
    - Buizel.....Eh.
    - Gotta love those Hypnosis eyes..
    - Chimchar.....Eh.
    - Drifloon FTW!
    - Pikachu.....Ok.
    - Drifloo-, I mean Drifblim FTW!!
    - TO BE CONTINUED...
    - Oh, and lol Yanmega.

    Hmm... It seems PUSA replaced all the battle music during Ash's battle with Fantina. I thought they would at least keep one..We got the movie 9 piece, Dr. Rowan's theme, and some old Kanto/Jhoto song I can't seem to remember right now to make up for it though.

    I expected a more low pitch voice her as well. It really took me by surprise when I heard her.
     
    My immediate thoughts:

    Fantina's voice is annoying. I didn't understand half her lines.
    Where did Dawn get Coin Toss again?
    "IT'S FISH!" (little brother when Dawn flipped the coin)
    Hooray for spontaneous evolution!

    Dawn got Coin Toss in a pretty old episode, I believe it was the one with the...damn..I forget the name of it. Just woke up, T.T... It's the Pokemon that put them into dreams when they were in the field..I'll look later. XD

    "A-Maze-Ing Race!"

    You know, the episode when they're all stuck in a maze, and Dawn's freaking out trying to hurry to the other Pokemon Center before the Poketch promotion ends. :P
     
    Oh. I thought it was the episode where they were all in like, an interactive dream, and Brock was pretty much attacked by thousands of Nurse Joy's...

    Yep. >3< Episodes used to be on at 7:30, and I'd have my TV set to record them each morning. ;3
    Anyways, I missed this episode, I'm looking around for it though ^.^
     
    In Japanese, Melissa (Fantina) has an English accent and said loads of English words, so I imagine the Japanese found her hard to understand XD So the dubbers were just following the original by making her talk in French, if she did.

    Do the episodes come out on Friday or Saturday in America?

    I like to edit the commercials when I record, so I wake up every Saturday at around 7:50. *3* My brother younger brother doesn't like to wake up on Saturdays..

    It shouldn't be too long before somebody puts it up online. Shame on you for missing it. >_>

    Edit: Jorah, episodes air on Saturdays at 9/8c here in America.

    I don't usually find it on YouTube until late Saturday around 9pm-10pm or Sunday. So it should be around 6 hours earliest until it's online...
     
    They're on at eight or nine in the morning every Saturday here in the States. This means I can finally watch them. :3

    Ominous Wind. That's a really annoying move in Mystery Dungeon.

    Man, that Drifloon is tough for a baby-OH NO, it's evolving!! No way Ash's gonna win now!!

    I'll finish this review when this episode's done. So far it's pretty good!!

    Anyway, this was a pretty awesome episode. Rating: 10/10!!
