Hello. I just got back into pokemon because of Rom Hacks. Pokemon Compass for Violet not only made it good, it made it amazing. So I went and took the dive into the world of rom hacks and fan games.

Currently my favorite Pokemon Experience has been Pokemon Añil by Eric Lostie. After that I was planning on playing other fan games like reminiscence or Xenoverse as well as Pokemon Unbound (rom hack). However I have a major issue.

Some cutscenes make my game slow down, and it stays that way until I reset. It's because of this that I couldn't enjoy major events in Pokemon Añil as much as I wanted. (THAT BOSS BATTLE is absolutely magnficent with that Dragon Ball Super Background Music). The slow down stays there into battle so it's annoying.

I've tried next to everything. But it doesn't go away. I figured it might be a problem with the game, but I also tried Pokemon Opalo and it slows down after the first cutscene.

My rig is a asus tuf gaming laptop with Core i5, 16 gb ram, nvidia gtx 1650 4 gb, win 11.

It seems I have fixed it. I'll leave my findings here in case anyone else has this problem.

So basically. There were key cutscenes in Pokemon Añil where the framerate would drop and wouldn't go up until reset. This was mostly noticeable half through the game. But lo and behold, I finished it then started another save and voila, the framerate would drop when Red, Blue and Green reunited with Oak at the beginning of the game.

That's when I, on the verge of defeat, came up with the right idea. The game tells you to turn off v sync with everything's going too fast... That happened to me so I never thought about changing it because the game would be unplayable. But went it and tried it, I turned on v sync and used rivatuner to limit fps to 60.

And that seemed to do the trick! I went through the game again on a stable framerate and got to the dreaded cutscene. It didn't slowed down again!
