There's always been some kind of hesitation in discussion here, and I'm not sure why. ): You don't need to post in a thread once and leave it.

I agree so that's why I don't understand why you don't take your own advice. My post wasn't meant to insult anyone but it was certainly aimed at a few people such as yourself and AdvancedK47.

Anyway, I think there should be less general discussions (Movie threads, new series, etc) because they do terrible. That's why I didn't allow Blurang1 (That's how his thing goes I think) to have his thread (New characters) be a general discussion. They usually die off and that's what happened recently with it until it was bumped back up with a post a while ago. At the very least keep them to a min until you get your dream of having this section be more active. General movie threads suck though. They get no attention but that's something for the next Moderator to worry about. Sure they keep an organized forum but they can't keep a constant discussion for very long. Not yet at least.

So, what you're basically saying is to promote more specific discussion? Such as "Who liked Blaine's Attitude?" or "What do you think of Lt. Surge?" instead of "Pokemon Arc <insert arc here> Discussion"

Now that you mention, I do remember the decent activity when such threads were common a long while ago. I won't bother counting years, but I think it sure was that way.

More specific discussions work here better. That goes to prove by the recent threads we're getting now. They just generate more replies, and with that hopefully people will come back to continue the discussion without just one post replies. While, I do that at times, it's only because I'm busy watching the rest of the forum and its sections. When I do get the chance though, and especially now, I'll be coming into the same thread more than once.

Other than the Fan Art Thread and Q&A, I was contemplating a Best Wishes Speculation & Wish List sticky tomorrow with the start of the new season. What do you guys say to that?

BTW, this thread is being closed on Saturday the 25th with the given suggestions being put into action (i.e Fan Art, Q&A, and possible Spec./Wishlist?). The first event being held will be the Snap Shot Competition, which will come within the start of October.

Yes. I just inserted filler in my suggestion so it would be longer than my complaint.

Why make it a sticky? As the show goes along, what happens next will become more obvious especially when the plot of the games become more known. You also have to consider how many people will watch the new episodes from week to week and how many are willing to discuss it at all and even then how many people will bother posting in that thread. Also notice how poorly sticky threads do in general. Like Shipping Debates, or the stuck threads you have in the new sub-forum, or Dub Titles, or Japanese Titles, or Picture Requests, or Lyrics Request, I think we had a Music request thread too but I don't remember. You can even take a look at this thread if you want. Not many suggestions really.

Have you considered any of that? It may look like I'm trying to shoot down your idea but I'm just laying out everything that does generally happen here. Personally, I think it would fail (Surprised?) but you should try it since you'll never know until you try (Unless I say otherwise). Go for it.

e: I want to make it clear that I'm telling you to go for it. That last sentence wasn't sarcastic.

Eh, y'know there's not many posts here in general, so Shipping Debates does pretty OKish considering most of us are in different time zones. All the request threads we used to have ended up with mostly one person doing all the work (pictures = Unown_, music = me, video = Katsu) but it wasn't that they didn't do well, it was partly because people got so used to those people doing it, that others would just ask you specifically and I think anyone else might have been too intimidated to answer because of that and let the usual person do it o_O Soo...if you're having a Q&A thread, be careful that doesn't happen. "Vernikova, is Butterfree really dead?" "Vernikova, why did Ash release Pidgeot?" etc etc

Except lyrics request which was stupid, since there are easily findable anime lyrics websites.
