Hello all, wanted to get some input and ideas for a project we are currently working on. Unlike most Online Pokes, we want to try and make this a bit more unique basing the world itself off the anime to give it for depth and larger world for players to roam and also make some systems more exciting to play. Just a new things I wanted to talk about and get some feed back on.
Overview:
PDO will be a 3D based Online RPG game, focusing more on active style battle system instead of a traditional turn based system.
Battle System:
For the Battle system, we are doing away with the turn based style and going for a more active system. During battles you will take control of the selected Pokemon and are able to move around the "Battle Ring" This Ring shows up whenever you enter a combat mode, it has 3 Colors, Green, Yellow and Red. Green allows the pokemon to leave the ring simulating its fleeing from battle, Red Keeps you locked in (Dueling, Trainer and gymleader battles) Yellow means others can join your fight (For party modes) When you take control of your Poke you are able to dodge attacks, maneuver into a better position or aim your attacks depending on the skill. For your skills (either Bound with 1-9 Keys, or using another means) You are able to aim your attacks to be more effective, frontal attack deal normal damage when attack from behind hurts more. Skill areas of effect or usage will depend on the skill type. Example Tackle will send the Poke forward few feet and hit the first Poke in there way where fire blast lets your choose a small area and then sets it all on fire.
Party System:
The idea behind this is you will be able to join or make a group of 4 trainers to venture off into the regions, to mix in a bit of n RPG experience we wanted to introduce Dungeon and Raids into the Pokemon World. IT wont be as complex as WOW raids are but still will be fun and challenging. You be able to fight against Legendary Pokemon from throughout the series and maybe Catch them.(Very Rare chance)
Capturing:
Unlike the games we wanted capturing pokemon to be more rewarding, more common pokemon will be easy to catch but the rarer the pokemon the harder it will be. We have two ideas for the capture system.
A: You fight the pokemon until it faints, then get to throw your pokeball at the pokemon, however it can only be done once, it the catch fails the poke runs away.
B: You fight, get the pokes health low (lower the better) then keep throwing pokeballs until your capture it or it runs away.
Daycare:
The daycare system will stay the same as the games but instead of it being by step it will be by how much time has passed. To breed and receive an Egg you have a small %(depending on how rare the pokes are) to get an Egg once every 24-48 hours, If you do not get and egg you will have to just wait another day or two or months depending on the Pokemon being breed. Then with hatching thinking about doing the same, having it hatch after X amount of hours or days.
EV Training:
EV Training is the hardest feature to try to decide on, we want to keep it true to the Games, or somehow come up with our own way of doing this.

We are looking for Full time or Part Time Help. Since we are doing a different style with PDO we are looking for
Writers: Story, Quests, Dungeons, Raids
Modelers: Creating our 3D based features.
Spriters: For doing both Trainers, Npcs, Pokemon to fit the new style battle system
Programmers: Program the engine in C++ using Irrlicht as a graphics wrapper for OpenGL.
