I think I should start this with me pointing out everything I have done wrong. Luckily, someone's compiled a list I can put ticks next to. The spoiler is all me bashing myself, and therefore optional reading.
So. Got bored, messed around with Advance Map, (figured out how to save maps... Apparently you just press the "save" button. Cryptic) and FireRed, and started making the maps look... Well, better, I hope. Not done all maps, (have done movement permissions, though, wheee) but the ones I have done (that I can remember) are route below Pallet, the ones between there, Cinnibar, Fushcia, then cycling path (oops, forgottone that one's name) and then route 1, Viridian, that route to the victory path place, etc, and all around there, and route 2. (Route 2's my pride and joy so far)
I should probably have made that a list. Meh. Sorry. Also, victory path (or that place around it where you have your badges checked) isn't too good, blah blah, you know the whole "I'm no good" drill I assume. Started on Pewter, but that's it so far.
I'm not 100% if I can post images with this postcount, but I'll try, in the next post. Also assuming I can't have attachments, so the IPS is at sara.and.zuka.googlepages dot com/butchered.ips
Just want to know if there's any need for me to continue notifying the public of my "work", or whether I should continue my hobby in the dark.
Thanks for reading.
Spoiler:
1. Grammar
Nope.
2. Mapping- tile errors
- bare and/or unoriginal maps Unoriginal, yes.
- maps that have obvious similarities to the originals (example: you can tell that that was once Pewter City and you just made slight changes) That's the idea of this one.
3. Storyline
- The repetitive Nintendo storyline Same game, so yeah.
4. Graphics, Sprites, & Tiles
- Tiles that don't flow well together Probably.
- Hacks based soley on a graphic, tile, or palette changes Sorry, yeah.
5. Pokemon
- Pokemon that are too strong to be found in early parts of the game (example: a wild Skarmory on the first route) Not done that yet.
6. Miscellaneous
- hackers that put themselves and their work down (example: "I am a n00b and this is my first hack so go easy on me.) Yep, a hella lot.
