Hello everyone!!!
At a time when the hype Pokémon is in full swing, I thought it would be fun to dive back into the world of 4G thanks to my very first hackrom: Pokémon HardGold.
This hackrom follows exactly the same story as Pokémon Heartgold with a few exceptions. First of all, as its name suggests, this version is a hardcore version of the base game, with the level of Pokémon's trainers increased (Peter's Pokémon are now by level 70 approximately) and especially THE IMPOSSIBILITY TO USE ANY HEAL/BOOST ITEMS IN BATTLES.
In addition to the difficulty, my Rom offers a wider range of Pokémon to be captured in the Johto area. Thus, Gym Leaders, Trainers or Elite Four members have a brand new team. In addition to these modifications, my game fully includes the fairy type (Whitney is a fairy type Gym Leader) while allowing the player to own the National Pokédex from the start of the game.
TMs are now unrestricted, and some attacks have been modified (Cut---> Grass, 60Bp). The sprite of Lyra has been replaced by the one of Kris from Pokémon Crystal, the GB Player is given at the very beginning of the game, the sprites of some Pokémons have been changed... In addition, exchange-based Pokémon now evolve either by level or by holding objects, and changes have also been made to the game's script as well as to the Pokémon stats and movepools. The goal of my rom is to allow players to dive back into the hgss universe while enjoying a deeper level of difficulty. Finally, my game is playable on R4/Emulator like Twilight Menu (tested and approved). I hope you'll like my rom!!
