It is labeled an idea, but physical work has already been started. A concept of the map will included at a later date. The game, or rather, idea does have a logo ready, albeit unpolished. I should also note that there is no Fakémon in this game. This game will be made in RMXP and will be in the HG/SS style. This is also my first fan-game. I do not have a "team." (In this forum anyway...)
There are checkpoints you will need to reach, but this is not your average, run-of-the-mill Pokémon game. The choices you make may change the course of your adventure. The game's storyline is a combination of my own creation and the Pokémon Adventures manga's storyline. You are not obligated to catch all six-hundred-and-what-have-you Pokémon in every region possible and defeat every Trainer and Gym Leader. The game runs along a storyline of a predestined character that is not necessarily a Trainer. The game will not be weighed down by any limitations set forth by the official Pokémon games in terms of the usage of language a character might use and name choice (i.e. is her name GREEN, LEAF, or BLUE?). Some fans may have mixed feelings about the idea that some aspects of the story are fixed and other aspects are completely customizable. Some fans' wants and needs have been added to the story that do not affect the main storyline directly.
This is a personal project of mine I had started when I started to read the HG/SS arc of the Pokémon Adventures manga. (Or PokéSpe as some would like to call it.) I am an avid reader of the manga and, after playing many of the main Pokémon games, I felt as if the main games lacked something the manga had: character interaction. Black and White improved on this interaction, but I felt that it wasn't enough. I wanted to shed some light on the Pokémon manga's storyline. I seldom see a project that has little, if any, connection to the manga's storyline. I want to change that. The game may twist certain details to fit both the manga's and the game's storylines.

Plot:
The plot is more of an interactive storybook of sorts.
You are a boy, a Doppelganger of a soon-to-be hero, with no penny to your name. You have no rank and you are merely a shadow. You haven't even experienced your fifteen minutes of fame. You are thirteen years old, a very late start for any child who wishes to become a Pokémon Trainer. You also have a curious interest in Fire-Type Pokémon.
On a foreboding, seemingly casual day on Cinnabar Island, you decide to change all of that. You don't have your first Pokémon so what are you to do? And when you do manage to receive a Pokémon, what are you doing to do with it? Are you going to become a Trainer? A Co-Ordinator? A Gym Leader? That's for you to figure out.
What do I mean by this? This is a role-playing game. You are playing as someone who wants to share his story with you. You will follow this young man's story throughout the game. The character has a predestined role. Your partners are fixed, meaning his opponents will be built to have an advantage over him. Of course, I can still fix this at any given time to fit people's interests or for whatever reason I see fit.
There will be many familiar faces as well as new ones along the way to your new career, despite the hero that has such a splitting image of you. Finish the story for him or just rewrite history for him.
Mechanics:
I will provide more detail when I am able to add screenshots. (And when I can catch a few more Z's... *nods*) For fun, I'll just throw in that you don't have to anticipate another Great Ball in that trash can ever again.
I'll add more! Of course, it's much more than an idea since I have already started on it. I hope that you give the story a chance! (Especially when I change the layout of this post...)

Events:
Spoiler:
The events in this game occur near the end of the "three years" that span the time between Red's debut in the Indigo League and the beginning of Gold's adventure. However, the plot is designed in such a way that it mirrors the "official" storyline. For example: The Burned Tower had not burned to the ground. Red is sulking in Cerulean Cave because he failed to achieve the title as Champion. Cerulean itself is covered in ice due to a horrible change in climate. Certain characters may switch important roles with another character such as Clair and Lance. Certain legendary Pokémon would be erased from history because they were prevented from being created from their origin points. The game is simply in a parallel universe.
Region Information:
Spoiler:
The regions included in this game are: KANTO and JOHTO. Nothing more, nothing less. I may change this at any given time. Not all areas can be accessed and some areas have been added to balance it out. (At first, I was going to reverse the maps--but to what purpose would that serve?)
Background Information:
Spoiler:
Some key terms have been added and replaced in this strange, backward world. Here are a few examples:
- Kanto and Johto have suffered cold temperatures and strange climate changes.
- Berries are unable to grow and Apricorn Poké Ball production is slowed. Berries were replaced by manufactured Candies that carry the same effect as Berries. Newer Poké Balls were created by a corporation (other than Silph Co.) from a distant region.
- YEAR SYSTEM: A year system was born, developed by the emperor of Shinjo during the era before Shinjo was split into what is now Johto and Sinnoh. The current year is 30,075 and can be abbreviated as 30.75. This time system does not mirror our real-life system. The events during Red's adventure occurred in 30.72.
- DOPPELGANGERS: People who resemble famous hereos or stars who never gain a spotlight in the busy Pokémon world. One notorious Doppelganger would be Amber, a splitting image of the trainer Yellow from Viridian City. She currently lives in Lavender Town, living in the shadow of the Ghost Tower that she desperately wants to defend from being torn down for the new Radio Tower.
