Do you guys remember me? I was the one with the Anime Game of Pokémon.
    Well, I scrapped the idea.

Now I was thinking... the battles... they're sooo... boring these days!
So, to make it more realistic, Im going to use a tactical battle system.

    As for the story:
Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town is finally old enough to become a Pokémon Trainer. Gary Oak has the same intention. As the grandson of Professor Oak, he has some privileges: he had the chance to study Pokémon from a young age. That's why Gary Oak has a lot more knowledge about Pokémon and will play a big role in Ash's Pokémon education... (more on that in the future)

Ash gets to choose a Pokémon but finds out he was too late. Fortunately, Professor Oak has one Pokémon left for Ash: Pikachu.

This is the basic start of the story. Remember it from somewhere? ;)

But from here, the story will be different. It will make use of different stories of the Pokémon Anime. Every character will make an appearance (Misty/Brock/May/Tracy, etc) including the good old Team Rocket.

To get the idea of how the game will look like, here are some examples of tilesets in production. Beware, early development!

    Pokémon Center

    Ash's Home

    Oak's Lab

    Ash, Misty and Brock
As you can see, I changed their designs. If you look in detail, you'll notice Ash's design combines several Anime designs, but mainly the last one. Misty will use her very first design for Pokémon Red. Brock will have the Diamon/Pearl Anime design.

All graphics are made by myself, and the characters you see are 70% finished. (only back needs to be finished)

The PokéGear will probably make no appearance, since I dont see the reason to implement it. It's waaay too unnecessary. It doesnt add fun gameplay...

    Features:
    - Pikachu will be walking behind Ash
    - Ash/Misty/Brock can be switched during the story at (almost) any time
    - All three characters (^) will be able to catch Pokémon and get into battles

This is what I got so far. If anyone has ideas, please give them.

Hey great idea, btw it sounds really similar to golden sun... lol, maybe im just guessing, but where did you think this idea from? It is a good idea however, XD

Not golden sun, umm.. wild arms is what i was thinking about, eheh.. or at least wild arms 2, which is what i have, but ya.

I got the idea from myself actually. O_o

Priority of the battle system was that the Pokémon were fully visible. They had to be there on the field while battling.
Then I figured tactical battle systems are very cool, and thus the idea was created.

    Glad you like it!

Yes i do like it, btw, off topic- my favorite final fantasy game was final fantasy tactics, it is the only final fantasy game that i keep on playing because its always differeny, meaning, you should make it like tactics like that, where each pokemon has a seperate turn or something, and such, but if you make it like tactics, then you will need to make a story, and to continue the story you will have to battle and win, which is really fun, xD
    Good Luck on it btw.

yesh that is a good idea :) the tactical battle system on that is excellent. Keep up teh great work dude.

My thoughts exactly. It will be like FFTA. Im waiting for a script that is being made by Selwyn, who's opening it up to the public soon.

    Thanks guys!

Oh really? thats awesome, but the only thing is, the sprites would have to be 3d, or like fft where when you change view, its like the character looks like paper, but the sprite still keeps it's 3d look,

A Pokemon game that uses tactics as well as strategy, very interesting.

You need more shading and stuff like that.

    Like I said:

Shading will be done eventually, but first the primary graphics need to be done.

    FF Tactics Advance. That's 2D. ;)

    Thanks for comments so far!

Well, i meant, they look 3d, :P, but youd still have to get the whole back view, and front view, i think it shouldnt be too hard, just get the back view of the pokemon from the game and add on the bottom, xD
