A Pokemon TCG Rom Hack
Overview
Pokémon TCG Enhanced is small project which tries to improve the original game in some aspects. Basically, is the Original Game but a little better =)
Many of the attack descriptions were changed to be more "Generic" and Easier to understand, Descriptions like Water Gun are shared with many pokemon with attacks that work exactly the same:

Things like PKMN PWR are now divided like this: first page is for the Effect, and the second one is for the PKMN PWR rule that every pkmn shares.

Since all the other romhacks out there at the moment change the game's cards completely, I thought that many people would be interested in playing the original game with many of the improvements seen in those hacks =)
Features
• All text in the cards have been changed to be more simpler and easier to understand.

• At the start of the game you can choose whether to play as Mark or Mint, exactly like in the Sequel!

• Now the start of the game is a little bit faster, the Tutorial is now optional and Text Speed is set to 5.
• The Sprites of the Main Duelists of the Game have been replaced by those of the Sequel. (Many of those were modified by me, especially Mint's Sprite)
• Phantom Venusaur can be found in MYSTERY Packs, and Phantom Mew in LABORATORY.
• Sam now give 50 Energy Cards in his special booster.
• Fixed Various Bugs and Code Errors from the original game.

You will need the original "USA" version of the Rom.

Looking forward to playing this in full soon, but first some minor thoughts after looking at the codebase:

• needs one more pass for typos (I've seen "betwen" and "ot" so far)
• as well as a pass for gender neutrality. This describes such instances: https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/gameboy/patches/700readme.txt
• And maybe one more pass for casing (if someone is using a sentence-case patch... also is there a way to enable that through the repo?)
• was the "Ninetails" name glitch fixed?
• I'm sure it is meant to be space saving, but would prefer seeing most of the newly introduced instances of "PKMN" reverted to "Pokémon".

I would look at it!
I totally forgot about the "Ninetails" error 😅 and about the "Pkmn" thing, yeah is for save some space and make some text less awkward, especially if you are dealing with custom cars and stuff but for this it would be fine.

Woah! I literally like 2 days ago opened up the TCG game on the NSO VC, and (basically started the game, not sure when I ACTUALLY made a save file for the 1st time. But I hadn't done anything outside the tutorial) and then I saw this on Reddit! Crazy how things work! I am convinced my thoughts and actions are influencing the world around me, like on a time and space level 0_0

But yeah really cool!
I'm definitely gonna play this, but I still wanna play the original on my Switch because tbh that's unmatched. And after my first battle, whooping that Fire Trainer's butt, and (while feeding in to my curiousity) finding out I could reload save states to randomize what I get in the reward packs, I abused the hell out of it and got one of the rarest cards. Charizard! And it was the final card in the 2nd pack as well! (w/o save state abusing again after getting the 1st, not sure if that would work anyway)
It was super rare, as I only managed to pull it ONCE out of 30ish tries or so. And I even sacrificed a lovely Vaporeon for it, which also had Gengar...
Machamp and Golem..
Venusaur and Nidoking..
Jolteon... Pidgeot... Vileplume..

But it'll be easy enough to get them all again so taking Charizard is the right choice lol.

And I saw you made another TCG hack that features Pokémon all the way up to Gen 9??? That one looks amazing! I'm for sure going to play TCG Generations once I beat TCG Enhanced! Not worried about 100% completion tho honestly. As long as I get all the legendaries. I wanna jump into TCG Generations as soon as possible!

And a little update since I was finally able to start my journey!

It's very very very like super duper minute, lol😅. Not serious at all. I only found it a little funny 😆
But I chose to play as the girl, and well..



He still says "real man" despite my character being a girl. I get that the game never had a choice for boy or girl originally 😂 But idk, I thought it was worth sharing. Even if just because it made me chuckle. I never played the game before the Switch, so Idk how many instances there are of characters referring to the player as a man (which he always was) but there's probably at least a few aside from this, lol. Maybe it could be changed for consistency? Idk if it's possible for them to have changed dialogue based on whether you chose to be a girl or boy.
As long as its only the non-main story, like the Gym leader and Elite 4 esque bosses, and the rival, I think it's not that big of a deal.
And either way, it doesn't effect gameplay, it isn't a serious issue. Like I said before xD
So if it isn't something you deem worth "fixing", no one can fault you for that lol

And I also had a question regarding your other project. I see there are 3 patch files. The vanilla, then the chocolate-- One for One. So I do know what that is.
But I couldn't find anything on reddit, and there was seemingly nothing in any of the documents either on what "Pokemon TCG Generations LC.ips" is or what LC stands for. Is it Legacy? Lite something? 🤔
Granted, I didn't dig very deep, but figured asking is better anyway

Respectfully, I probably won't suffer thru that patch of the game lolll but I feel better knowing what it means c: And it's funny bc I'm sure it's obvious for most people. Oh yeah is true, i may have mixed it with some of the others "Flip x coins. do x damage for each Heads" Descriptions, i would fix this Thanks!
