While we were working on our game, Hall Of Famer and I were talking about some of the problems people have with fangames (poorly designed, never get finished, etc.). There's already a sticky thread about that so I won't talk about it here.

Instead, we came up with an idea of getting together everyone who has worked on a discontinued fangame, merging ideas, and creating ONE Pokémon game that encompasses the ideas and interests of all of the developers. It would be called Pokémon: The Eternity Project (working title).

After being a member here for a year, I've seen a lot of really promising ideas and great pieces of work simply go down the drain because of lack of interest, lack of motivation, lack of support, etc.. That's why I'd like to start an all-encompassing project that combines everything.

Just about anything that competent game developers have to offer could be accepted. For example, we could have over 700 Pokémon including fakes, all original and many fake regions, endless number of sidequests, etc.. It would truly be a Pokémon Eternity Project because we would all contribute our best resources and ideas into the best possible Pokémon game.

And it could really be an eternity project because we would constantly have people working on this game FOREVER, releasing demos every few months with new Pokémon, new regions, and new sidequests in every new demo.

In this way, there would never be a complete game unless the franchise ends. Even then, the possibilities are still out there.

The resources for the game would be shared in a large database that anybody could access and make changes to for making updates of the game (sort of like open source software, but it would remain specific to this project).

The best part about this is that you wouldn't have a specific team of people. Instead, you would have people coming and going, contributing whatever they have to offer.

In this way, we could have a Pokémon game that would be the epitome of greatness.

So how about it? If anybody is interested in the idea, don't hesitate to PM me or send me an email <[email protected]>.

I really like the idea of collaboration. I think that teamwork is the key to any project getting done. I might be willing to get involved; who knows?

I'm sorry but the name is already taken:P
By my game, and it hasn't discontinued yet..
So if you want take another title, else just use this..
    I don't have a problem with it..
it's just that you know it now :P
but about the idea, it's a great idea i think:)
and I hope it'll work out, maybe I'll join myself.. not sure about that now though
