YEAR ONE
[Out of the blue…] : (Introduction)
Spoiler:
You feel a rumble.
Slowly, you take a deep breath, and the smell of brine fills your lungs. You moan as you exhale, shifting positions in your bed. The air feels especially chilly today.
Your ears twitch; you can hear footsteps going back and forth, smothered by the distance.
Suddenly, you feel another rumble. Ten times as strong as the first, it wakes you up violently, and causes you to sit up on your bed… or the sad excuse of what a bed should be.
You look around you, dazed and confused; just the same old brown, wooden walls.
You yawn. Again, the salty taste of the air startles you, but you're used to it. You turn your attention to the wall behind you, and notice a series of vertical dashes. Grabbing a knife next to you, you carve another dash to the wall.
Today marks 678 Sun-ups.
You lie back down noticing from a window that the Sun hasn't come up yet; weird, considering that at your age you tend to not wake up until noon.
The footsteps coming from outside your door won't cease, on the contrary, they only seem to increase, and soon enough they begin to sound more like stomps than anything. However, this doesn't bother you.
One more peek through your window, however, does.
You see a white bird with blue stripes flying…
LAND! You realize as your body automatically jolts up, and you rush past your door, fighting your way through a crowded hall towards the stairs that will lead you up to the deck.
"We've reached ZION!!!" You hear people scream as they hug each other, the feeling of ecstatic happiness fills the air. Smaller children look at the beach ahead of them confused; but you remember.
It made your life a living hell, but you would never forget it, the sight, the smell, the feel, or the taste of… land.
You remember it all too well; the tan color of the beach in the distance reminds you of its softness, its warmth. The gentle whispering of the tide reminds you of summer days at the beach, and the chirp of seagulls only makes the last minutes at sea unbearable.
Your happiness; your excitement, the ecstasy… it makes you overlook the shipwrecks along the beach, well, the signs that they weren't necessarily accidents, that is…
*****
As your ship, or better yet, ark approaches the beach; you notice a small group of people approach the coast armed to the teeth with stone weapons, such as javelins, spears, and knives.
The man leading the group appears especially hostile. He looks old, but is burly, and bears several face tattoos and plenty of scars, which are already visible from the ark. However a quick upward motion of his arm, with outstretched fingers confirms him to be an ally.
We're safe…
*****
As soon as you reach the beach, you're rushed away to the village; no time to explain and hurry up, that's all you know, nonetheless, you're just happy to be on land.

[This is NOT Zion]: (Setting)
Spoiler:
Well, welcome to the Pokémon World!
Or more appropriately, welcome to whatever the hell this God-forsaken land is…
In this RP, the Pokémon World is divided into two main continents, each located at opposite ends of the world.
You come from a flat and arid land that your people know as The Motherland. However, as the world shifts from a previous Ice Age, thousands of years back, to a warmer climate, the sea level rose, and The Motherland simply sank under the sea, driving its inhabitants, us, humanity, to flee… somewhere.
Luckily, you reached Zion, the promise of a home at the end of the road. Unluckily, this "Zion" is already home to a different type of life form, far stronger than any animal you'd ever encountered, and more fearsome than any monster you might've imagined; and these creatures will fight to keep any intruders, you, away from their home.
After several tussles between humans and these creatures, humans have been isolated into several small villages far enough that communication between them is close to impossible, but they've also begun to understand these creatures, and to fight them in an effective manner…
Lucky you! The war is just getting good!

[Help and be helped]: (Where you come in)
Spoiler:
"We've no choice but to cooperate." – Ivy, son of Oak
Such words would only make sense when coming from a man as battle-worn and rugged as Ivy, the man leading the rescue effort to bring you into this particular village; and while he seems old enough on his own right (think 30+ years old), the true leader of Oak village, is his older man, Oak himself.
You've been provided with shelter, a house within the village's walls just for yourself, but now, you must provide the village with your services in exchange. If you're a fisherman, you'll fish. If you're a blacksmith, you'll forge armor and weapons. If you're an apprentice, you better have learned well, and if your talents won't benefit the village… suit up soldier!

[Rules]: (yup…)
Spoiler:
- No swearing… really, don't F*** with me!
[*]Ok, swearing is fine, just not in front of little children because their moms will be pissed! - All PC rules apply.
- No Godmodding or bunnying… this one's for real!
- No giving permission to other RPers to bunny you either! Joint posts are more than welcome though. :)
- Nothing sexual, it has absolutely nothing to do with the RP! Romanticism is allowed though.
- Use proper grammar and spelling please! (Repeated offenses will earn you a strike).
- One-liners will earn you a strike.
[*]You know the deal: three strikes, you're OUT! - Most importantly, please stay active and have fun!
[*]If for some reason you need to take a break, or want to drop out, please do let me know, either through the OOC thread, a PM or a VM.

Hint:
Spoiler:
Put your character under different circumstances in your head before you even begin writing this section.
How does he/she feel about these hostile creatures? Scared, repulsed, curious, reciprocally hostile? What would his/her first course of action be if he/she had an encounter with one alone?
Think about his/her profession; would it make sense for a fisherman to be impatient? Not really, right?
Does he/she have a family? Did he/she lose them?
What's his/her outlook on LIFE?
Please put thought into this, one track-minded characters are HORRIBLE.

History: (2+ paragraphs)
Hint:
Spoiler:
First paragraph explain who your character was back in The Motherland. Specifically, what was his/her profession? Was he/she a productive member of society, a thief, an apprentice, a bum? Anything goes!
(Except murderers, murderers will NOT be accepted since their ships sank).
Profession ideas are: hunter, fisherman, gatherer, seamstress, messenger, scribe etc.
Second paragraph you should use to tell me anything about how you spent the last two years aboard the ark. Did you meet friends? What about a significant other?
You could also add some remarks regarding the first days of settling down in your new home. Know someone from before? Met someone new? Are clay and grass huts not your thing? Anything! Just don't go over the three day mark since settling in, it'll get you declined!

Sign-ups are NOT first come, first serve. Only complete sign-ups (notice the requirements) will be accepted, and I expect quality writing! :)
There also won't be a maximum number of RPers (unless you're too many, and I can't handle anymore), but I would like at least four RPers.
You may still sign up once the RP has started, but bear in mind that you can't just jump in at any point, you'll come in in another ark with other
RPers besides yourself.
