This is a really interesting question... It probaly teleports the pokemon in another dimension
I am pretty sure the luxury ball is more gentle while it catches the pokemon, making the pokemon feel better ^_^Then again, there is the Love Ball and the Friend Ball. And the Luxury Ball. Those make Pokemon friendlier than usual or easier to catch, have any idea why?

=3 Hehe... well, the "natural environment" is an over-used idea for insides of Pokeballs you know.
Um.. a huge tower for Rayquaza to slither/crawl on, and a long drop to the ground before flying... and a nice hard rock bed.... ah.. that's the life. *shakes head* Ulp, that sounds wrong too. =P
