This isn't a thread for advertising or promotion, just to discuss the Pokebattle meta

For anyone's who's never heard of it, Pokebattle is an alternate simulator/website to PO and Smogon where you make a team out of 6 Pokemon. The twist is that every Pokemon has a value assigned to them based on how good they are competitively. Seedot would have a low value, whereas Mega Blaziken would have a very high one, with 'Box Legends' and a few others having a rating of "1001" making them unusable on standard teams. This system, where you have an 1000 pbv limit to make a team opens up opportunities to use Pokemon banned in other metagames like Genesect and Mega Lucario, but at the cost of eating up a lot of the PBV you are allotted. You can also opt for a more balanced team, but it likely won't resemble a classic smogon squad with Aegislash/Thund/Land/Mega/x/x/ with a bunch of overpowered pokes who can work together, since powerful pokemon like aegislash, while not being as strong as Mega Lucario, still cost more than the 'average' pbv of 166 a pokemon. The site is in open beta right now but they'll be starting their first season soon iirc.

Really just discuss anything right now, how you find the sim or the concept. Maybe talk about some good value Pokemon you've found, I'll be listing some later on in the post. There is definitely a lot of room for exploration on this simulator so there should be a lot to discuss. There's a lot I like, although there's a lot I don't like as well, I think they are definitely being a bit too lenient on some Pokes, and there's also the criticism that the system as a whole isn't restricting enough [ie there are teams very close to Smogon OU, and Deosharp seems to work really well there, as does standard stall], and maybe the system would be better if multiple 'Smogon OU' pokes were a rarity, and you would only have one or two heavy hitters per team along with underrated threats to support them.

Just post and I'll add you so I can keep track who's part of the thread.
» Bonus: Value Pokemon
These are likely to change since they adjust the PBVs for more balance after the beta/each season, but as things are right now, here are what I believe to be some underrated/cheap Pokemon.

Alomomola -135 PBV
This to me is probably the #1 value poke on the sim right now, and it's seeing quite a bit of usage on both stall and balanced teams. If you wanted to throw an OP pokemon on the team, well Alomomola, coming in at 135 PBV is a great way to help stay under the pbv cap, working as a bulky pivot and wish passer. This is really a quality Pokemon even in Smogon's XY OU and to get it for 135 is a steal. Almost every team packing one of the really strong pokes has this guy and he fits pretty well into any team since it walls attackers from both spectrums and can take on a bunch of Pokemon 1-on-1, so he's not a free pass for many threats to come in, like a Blissey on an offense team might be.
Suggested Set/Spread:
Alomomola (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 36 HP / 220 Def / 252 SDef
Calm nature
- Scald
- Wish
- Protect
- Toxic

'DeoSharp' - 170 PBV / 155 PBV
I'm putting these two together, not only because they're a great combo due to Bisharp's ability that lets it get +2 Attack when someone tries to defog the spikes that Deoxys-D sets, but also because both are incredibly cheap for how effective they are. For being such a great support Pokemon that it was banned by Smogon, Deoxys-D is a pretty sweet deal for only 5~ points above the average. Great for dismantling offensive / defensive teams alike and almost guaranteed to get at least one layer up against most teams regardless, Deoxys-D is a pretty solid deal at Pokebattle no matter who you run alongside him. His common partner in crime, Bisharp, may be an even better one, as things stand now. 155 PBV for a great pokemon who is used even without deoxys-d due to how effective he is, is basically highway robbery. Bisharp is as solid a threat in Pokebattle is at Smogon and he comes in at a really great price for how potent he is, and the combo with Deoxys, allowing most players to keep their spikes up [or benefit greatly from them being defogged] is basically the price of 2 average Pokemon on the sim.
Not going to post a suggested set/spread for these 2 since it's pretty standard.

Clefable - 150 PBV
Like Bisharp and Deoxys, Clefable is among the highest ranked Pokes in smogon's "OU Viability rankings" , yet comes in below the average PBV at Pokebattle. Clefable definitely suffers a little from the presence of Pokemon like Mega gengar and Genesect over there, but it's still very solid and gives you a good bang for your buck. Clefable's fairy typing and very respectable bulk lets it take on a bunch of Pokes it couldn't before, such as Kyurem-B, Garchomp, Conkeldurr, and that's just if you EV it Physically defensively - Clefable's got the versatility to go both ways, depending on what you want it to beat. The physically defensive calm mind set, which is probably the best Clefable build at the moment, tears through most balanced teams, and even some stall teams who aren't strong enough to break through its defenses, and can't get any residual on it from hazards or status thanks to Magic Guard. Clefable's also incredibly versatile - it can forgo magic guard for unaware, to help bulky offensive teams who have trouble with setup sweepers, as well as being able to run Life Orb Calm Mind sets, and Cosmic Power + Stored power boosting sets, and it does this all incredibly well.
Suggested Set/Spread:
Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Moonblast
- Soft-Boiled
- Flamethrower
I didn't mean to make this thread so comprehensive, it's really just to chat about the Pokebattle meta, I just figured it's better to be informative than barebones lol.
