Since that's an interesting milestone and it has been mentioned by plenty of people

What do you think they should do for pokemon #666?

I think it'd be cool if Houndoom is given a 3rd evolutionary stage, call it Houndeath

I'd say his base stats should look like this
    HP : 90
    ATK : 70
    DEF : 85
    SPA : 140
    SPD : 85
    SPE : 130
    (Overall : 600. Which is = Tyranitar & Garchomp & such)

Ability : Hellbound : If this pokemon is killed in 1 hit, the attacker is also killed, and the next pokemon the opponent sends out is inflicted with Burn. (Basically a passive 1st hit only Destiny bond w/ an added burn to the next pokemon)

I think it works because, as it is Houndoom is not really used competitively because he's just not that powerful of a pokemon, so there's room to evolve and I say any pokemon with that number needs to be on the top tier, with 600 overall base stats like the aforementioned overused pokemon.

Because any pokemon with this number in the pokedex, should be a force to be reckoned with :P

I also think that when the pokedex reaches #777 they should have a Light type pokemon that is equally powerful. If light types not in this generation they could still make it a type in gen 7 before it hits #777.

Anyway, what do you think of my ideas? Do you have any ideas of your own for pokemon #666?

Should they just blow it off and not even do anything special for the number because that may be considered offensive to some people who take things too seriously?

I honestly don't think Nintendo is going to make a big deal out of it and just assign it to some random Pokemon. All other numbers with "meaning" don't have anything special about them, at least as far as i can tell, so i don't think #666 will make a difference.
Especially since Pokemon has been connected and linked to "demonic cultures" by some groups of people (we all know it's completely stupid and nonsense, but still) i don't see Nintendo giving these people a reason to actually support their theory with a demonic entity as number #666 in the Pokedex.

Ye guys are probably better off talking about this in the new Pokémon speculation thread. You'll get a better response there if it's not been discussed already.

Also - technically, Shelmet is the number of the beast Pokémon. d:
