Okay, this RP has been done ever since pokemon was first created, but I figure that it can actually go somewhere in ARP.
The idea is simple. Our current animals seem to have undergone a mass mutation, leaving no species unchanged. Thousands of species didn?t survive, but just as many did. The only beings unchanged by this ?disaster? as the governments are calling it, have been humans. What remains of the animal kingdom is vastly different, most having control of strange powers such as fire, or lightning. They were jokingly called Pokemon, after their resemblance to the creatures of old video games from a few decades back. However, this name began to become popular, and was practically adopted as an official name. Soon, there came the development of an item that worked similar to the game. A pokeball: an armored, almost indestructible orb that can translate pokemon into computer data, and keep them held safe. Rumor has it that a pokemon storage system for a computer network is in the works.
Pokemon have been tamed as pets ever since the change. However, battling isbecoming more popular, but not everyone welcomes pokemon open-armed. Religious zealots, concerned parents, and the type of people that makes up the body of most mobs, namely the uninformed and the ignorant, are staging anti-pokemon protests and riots all over the globe. ?Trainers? as pokemon owners and battlers have come to be called, are almost never slain. However, the worst charge that can be brought for slaughtering their pokemon is cruelty to animals, and destruction of property. The riots are happening more and more often, despite the authorities best efforts, and there is rumor of a ?Pokemon League? looking for the best of the best of trainers, to help in the defense of pokemon worldwide?
We will start off as regular humans, with pokemon not really trained for fights, but as pets, though fighting will more than certainly come later.
And here's the form.
