    Okay.. this thread has prolly already been posted here.. but seing as I can't find it, I'll just post it now :P If this topic has already been discussed, then by all means close the thread.

    So I was thinking if pokemon were real, how would they interact with animals. Could pokemon and animals live together or not? I mean pkmn have super abilities which animals don't and that would certainly effect the evolution. So my guess is if pkmn were real, there would be a big chance for animals to extinct. So what do you think about this?
     
    I pokemon existed I wouldn't care f animals went extinct. Except for my puppy Bean!
     
    If pokemon were real, they would think twice before messing wit any of my doggies. Or they'll have to deal wit me. N I'll have them wishing they were extincted. No one messes wit my doggies. <3 n_n
     
    I think the animals that are alike to the Pokemon would get along best..Like, Elephants would get along with Phanpy, because they're just like the same animal really. And, Dogs and Growlithe. They'd all get along eventually, and learn who's the king of the jungle and such. But of course, the weaker Pokemon/animals would learn the hard way.
     
    Nyu, the way I see it, two things could happen. Either A) pokémon of species corresponding to existing animals would - as Kawaii mentioned - get along with members of their own 'species', and potentially even breed, thus resulting in a sort of mingling of the two parties, or B) The species wouldn't recognize each other as family and would consequently clash, effectively resulting in the extinction of most (if not all) original species of animals (This would most likely include humans, as many species of pokémon enjoy the urban habitat) since pokémon are far superior in terms of power and survival skill and would consequently beat their new rivals in the old survival fight. Sad, but true. .__. Of course, animals would probably evolve to feed on what few sources of sustenance the pokémon didn't make use of.
     
    I think they could get along, because most Pokemon don't seem to be so vicous as to randomly attack things, also, the attacks don't seem to do much damage to people. My question is in like the show and the games...are there animals? The Pokedex will say "Psyduck. The duck Pokemon." or Arbok "Should be kept away from animals and little siblings", how do they know what a duck is if they don't exist? o_O O_O O_o. That's the real question...yep.

    Nyu, actually there are instances of animals featuring in the pokémon world. I seem to recall a pictur of a mongoose battling an Arbok? Can't recall for sure because I haven't watched the anime that far, but yeah. Anyhow, I'm not so much concerned about the pokémon being agitators, but RL animals have actually been known to be far more vicious. Wolves - for instance - are prone to attacking dogs even though they are genetically very close to each other - heck, even dogs with enough wolfblood in their systems can exhibit this behaviour if they deem the dog to be too dog-like - so I have no doubt that their reaction to completely new species of animals would be much the same. And of course, I doubt that pokémon - nice or no - would take kindly to being attacked indiscrimnately. xP

    Yeah but it would be sort of hilarious because imagine on a nature show they would be recording butterfree's and beatifly's and then pidgeot's and swellow's would attack them.
    I wonder if a pokemon like scyther used slash on an arbok or something would the arbok split into two.
