Well. After browsing around the forums I noticed that there are many games in development so I decided to give it a crack. I have just downloaded Pokemon Essentials and have played around with it a bit. One thing does confuse me though. Making rival battles. I can make the first battle just fine, but the second battle really does stump me. I have looked at the notes provided but can't seem to find the appropriate infomation. Anyway if you can help me I would be so grateful.

    Story:
So. This is Pokemon: Aqua Recruit. The main idea is that you are a member of Team Aqua and you are told by Archie to go undercover as a Pokemon Trainer and catch Kyorge and Groudon. However, you begin to enjoy being a Pokemon Trainer and decide to take the Pokemon League challenge, while still conducting your mission for Archie... However on the verge of catching the legendary Pokemon, Archie turns up and battles you for the right to battle with them. Now I will not tell you anymore about the story. ROFWL. I think I've said enough.

    Features:
    # There will be a new unique region. (Haven't got a name for the region yet.)
    # Diamond/Pearl/Platinum Tilesets. (Please can someone get some for me for RPG Maker XP)
    # Unique Overworld sprites and music including legendary encounters.
    # And many more... Maybe a reputation system on how people view you. (Even though I can't script)

    Characters: (Sorry, no images yet)

    Archie (Team Aqua Leader)

No more leaders thought of yet. Help appreciated.
No more characters thought of. Elite Four cannot think of any names of Pokemon.

    Help Needed:
Well. Throughout the entire post I needed help. So I will just sum up and maybe add more:
    - D/P/Plt Tilesets (I have got the tilesets now.)
    - How do you make a second rival battle?
    - Gym Leader names and Pokemon. (PM me please)
    - Elite Four names and Pokemon. (PM me please)

I also would like to have a team working on this game. I need:
    A scripter
    A spriter
An artist to design Gym Leaders and Elite 4.
An advertiser to create banners etc, would be nice. But not entirely necesery.

Thats it for now... PM me if you want a job or can help me out in anyway. Thanks a lot.

EDIT: I have that tiles I need. And the gym leaders changed LVS slightly and their is a rock gym first.

It looks promising. For the Rival battles, you made a type for the Rival, right? I'm assuming you've already made a trainer type for him/her. Now, what you do is you give each the same name, and somewhere in the notes it gives you the opportunity of giving trainers the same name, and type, but a different ID# so the game can differentiate. Like Rival Red 1 and Rival Red 2. I hope that helps. Btw... do you start off with a carvanha or something? Putting a water and grass-type gym in the very beginning is a bit risqué for a game, even if it is a fangame. And then a grass-type gym? You'd do better with a Rock-, Flying-, Bug-, or Normal- type gym first. Most of those types have an advantage over one of the starters, but does not include the type the starter could possibly be. I know this isn't a typical select a water- fire- grass-type pokemon from a professor Pokemon game, but you want to make the beginning manageable for the player. At least the first gym. In RBY there was nearly a 10-level gap between Brock and Misty, but at least Brock's gym was fairly simple to get past. I hope i wasn't too critical...

Well, thanks for the comment incognito322. I have taken into consideration to what you said and I have decided to change the gyms a little. For the rival battles do you have to name each rival, Red 1 and Red 2 and then in brackets put their names or am I getting confused? Sorry if I'm being a nuisence but this is my first time developing a game.

i sent you an idea for the rival battles. I think it'll work. I like how the first gym has a rhydon. It adds that fangame mini-challenge twist, hahaha. Now it won't be so much of a challenge. Oh, and you might want to take into consideration the physical geography of the region. Does it have snow? Is this a major feature? If so, it would be foolish not to have an ice-type gym. Is the land volcanic, or a tropical mega-island (like hoenn and my fake region)? If so, then maybe a fire gym would be a nice touch. The gyms must make sense, too. The E4 typically includes types that are abundant or scarce in a region. Examples for scarcity: Hoenn's Glacia, and Sinnoh's Flint. Hoenn was tropical, lacked ice-types, but they had an edge in the games. Same goes for Flint in Sinnoh. There were only 2 fire-types avalible, one being the starter. Examples for abundance: Hoenn's Wallace and Sinnoh's Aaron. Hoenn is fifty-five percent (or forty-five) water, so the significance of water is evident in being the final gym. Sinnoh managed to make many new bug-types while including the five from the Hoenn Region, making it especially abundant in the little buggers. Also consider the region's population and the relative location of towns and cities. Will there be large metropolises, scattered towns, traditional cities, or small, neat city-towns? Will the routes be messy, straightforward, or each a labyrinth in its own right? Each of these makes a significant part of the overall gameplay.
