    Pokemon BYOND (MMO)-{A completely new type of game}

    Pokemon BYOND is a game I've been working on for a bit over a week now. It's an MMO made with the BYOND game engine programmed in a language known as "DM". I've got most of the icons, sprites, tiles, etc., ready, I'm just working on the programming and mapping. As I said before, it's an MMO, so you can interact with other players in real time, but if I find little interest in people wanting it to be an MMO, I can just package up the BYOND files and the game file and make it a single player executable game (rather than a game hosted on a server).

    Plot / Story

    The general idea is that you're a failed experiment of a newbie at Team Rocket. Team Rocket is trying to genetically modify rattata via their eggs, and sometimes they mess up- you are one of those mess ups. You have to go throughout the base until you manage to escape, while also learning about where you came from and what the experiment was.

    You find out about something called a Datadex, similar to a Pokedex, this device helps you harvest certain bits of data from Pokemon and collects it. Once you get 100% data on a Pokemon, you can go to the lab and transform into that Pokemon. Your goal is to fill up your datadex with as many Pokemon as possible to assist team rocket, while also corrupting other people's data so you can rise to the top.

    Features


    • Transform into any one of the 150 original Pokemon when you harvest their data, and more pokemon will be coming soon.
    • Explore a large but original environment in your search for all of the Pokemon
    • The game is based heavily on a macro system, ie; press "a" to attack, "space" to harvest data, etc.
    • It's an online game, meaning you can chat and interact with other players as they play, as well as fight with them, trade data, meet new people, anything.
    • Customize your interface color and move things around so you can play the way that's more comfortable for you.
    • Fight with dozens of customizable attack moves, no Pokemon is limited to any set moves; the possibilities are endless- you want a pikachu that can use hydro pump? Spend some time in the TR lab, and you've got it.
    • A secret base system similar to that in Ruby, but depending on what Pokemon you are, you can make a base nearly anywhere (ie; a diglet can dig theirs virtually anywhere in the dirt, while golem can break a hole in a cave wall and settle there
    The game is in it's beginning stages so don't expect too much now, however suggestions would be lovely.

    =o I'VE BEEN WRITING SOMETHING LIKE THIS! for about 5 months now =3

    I mean its a lot different, but it still caught my eye ^^. I wish the best of luck to you on the project =D because I simply love it.

    I know the screenshots are juts like a rough example but better maps would still be nice lolz. =3
     
    Like I said, I'm working on the maps, and it's just to demonstrate the gameplay really. I plan on getting the programming out of the way completely then focusing on maps. Still, thank you for the good luck, I may need it!
     
    Hmm this looks quite good I've played BYOND games before and this is suprisngly good compared to most of them good job!
