i'd be intrigued if it weren't that my moral code forbids me from using any hack that would give me an unfair advantage or unfair number of pokemon. The only hack I've done was to get the primary starters(kanto) and nothing more. Oh well. I suppose I could put the codes in my action replay anyway ( It's actually my dads. i don't use it.)

Just to clarify:

Hacks/cracks are permanent modifications that are added to a program (in this case, a game) so that the program behaves in a different way. For example, you could download a cracked version of Pok?mon Red that allows you to have Mew as a starter. Or you could modify a sprite in the game so that it has a picture of youself, et cetera.

Codes are temporary modifications of the RAM of a program that modify a certain value of variable. For example, you could use a code that modifies the value of the number of items in your first item slot, but as soon as you turn off the code, your items will be able to deminish.

Ironically, you can code hacks, and you can hack codes.

Thus, you were likely using codes, lest you were using a flash cart or an emulator.
