Hello all! I couldn't find a thread with this exact problem so I wanted to make a post about it.
I have been toying around with Pokemon Emerald and I've been using the Gen III Hacking Suite program (it seems to basically do anything and everything) and I want to add new Pokemon in the game. I basically just want to add a version of a Pokemon that already exists, but different stats and abilities. Basically a beefed up version of a preexisting Pokemon, but the original version is still in the game, not replaced. Well, as most of you probably know, there's a large number of question marks between Celebi and Treecko on the list of Pokemon:
I've been trying to use these as a means to put in new Pokemon. However, multiple things seem to happen after I do too many:
- Adding Pokemon to a trainer battle gives the trainer random Pokemon.
- The .ini gets messed up due to repointing too many times (I'm guessing).
- Using the same image as one already in the game produces issues.
- After making about 3 or 4 new Pokemon in those slots, the whole thing becomes corrupt.
Is there any easy way to do this with Pokemon Emerald? Any help is appreciated. I have no interest in hardcore coding or hex editing. If there's a simple way to bypass this, I'd love to know. Thank you!
