Full Beta 1.2: Pokemon Ephemeral Sky Version

    [PokeCommunity.com] Pokemon Ephemeral Sky Version

    The Aomori Region,

    Where golden sand beaches await

    The Aomori Region,

    Where a crystal lake resides

    The Aomori Region,

Where the sky stretches on into the horizon.

The Aomori Region, located south of Sinnoh, is a lovely, climatic region where trees grow plentifully and three generations of Pokémon frolic. The ultimate holiday get away, spend a week on the sunny, golden beaches of Port Harate or snowboard around the snowy Yuki City. Visit the crystal clear Lake Towada or Hike around the rugged inland from Seki City. This region caters for everyone. From the hot desert to the sandy beach, from the soft snow to the pelting rain, Aomori is the place for you!

    "Extract from a holiday booklet"

    Dear Visitor,

Welcome to my House in the cloudy seaside Kumori Town. Don't be fooled by the façade that this extract shows you, the region of Aomori is not all that they make it out to be. This is just a big lie. What they did not mention is Team Lunar and Team Solar, evil and ruthless, work behind the scenes, each vying for control over this awful region. Vicious sandstorms and electrifying thunderstorms rage throughout the land, as the weather system differs from city to city. What is worse is that this land hides may secrets, the biggest of them all being hidden in Nambu Island. For some reason I am at the centre of it all.

So I need your help. Fill your party up with a team of strong, dedicated Pokémon and help restore this land from the clutches of evil. Learn about my past to find the secrets that this land hides and prove that the sky does not stretch on into the horizon.

    Thank you,

    [Player]

    Awesome game
    Keep hackin' :)

I gave it a try, and here are some of my comments:
    ---story:
Not very intriguing, and not very original as well, but works out for now. P.S: what about your sick aunt? ;o
    ---features:
I don't see anything great and renovative here, well, except for the decap, I suppose. I like partial decap more than no decap or full decap.
    So I guess it's gonna be a Nin-styled game.
    ---Screenshots:
No comments here, I wanted to test the hack myself.
    ---Testing:
    Spoiler:

thank you for pointing these out, i cannot change them just yet but this is what i wanted.
i am still developing the story and you need to go to the mart in Ame City to get med. igredients for your aunt (havent scripted yet.)
    tile errors:
    1) could not find a wall end to put there.
    2) i changed a tile and it stuffed up.
    3) my fault.
4)the idea there is that it started raining before they could complete the re-tiling of the city.
    5) havent scripted blocking person yet.
6+7) still just scripting. Note: this is a mapped beta, the scripting has just been started.
    8) i do not know why the hell that is there, i never noticed it before.
    9) scripting again!
    10) scripting again, did not notice that.
    11) i forgot to re level after i ran through the game, have releved beta coming soon.
    12) oops, that needs to be fixed.
    13) scripting errors, getting to it.
thanks, i definately have heaps of work to do.

@Colcolstyles: I will change that, thank you.

...okay then, I'm looking forward to the scripted beta.

    >>>1) could not find a wall end to put there.
Maybe you should put the stairs on the top, like the default ones, then change the other room to correspond to that, too.

By the way, I would like to point out that the way you made that rooms' connections gives the impression of living in a basement. Lol.

    >>>4)the idea there is that it started raining before they could complete the re-tiling of the city.

It still looks weird, maybe you should just make an abnormal way of ending the tiles, but they have to end somehow, in order for it to look smooth.

This was probably already mentioned by someone else but...
Whilst it's not a bug or glitch, you should really create an event that prevents the player from going onto the route to the right of the professor's lab.
Because, as it stands, the player can go out here and run into wild Pokemon whilst they themselves have no Pokemon. =/
Just thought I should tell you...

Oh, and since I've ended up fainting againstt he wild Pokemon, whilst I had no Pokemon of my own, I have noticed another minor thing.
When the player whites out/blacks out and appears in their house to be healed...
They appear two steps to the right of where they should be.

Oh, and now I've noticed another thing.
When you go to leave on the top route and Kaito/Oak stops you, he brings you back to the lab by walking you through the fence to the right of the lab, as in, as if it were not there.
It's clearly obvious that he's trying to bring you on the path that Oak would lead Red into his Lab in Pallet.
This causes problems because your lab's door is in a completely different place. Thus, Oak ends up bring you through the fence, down past the lab and enters through an invisible door beside the postbox at the side of the player's house.

For a hack in the first Beta stage, I would've expected at least the first town to be working properly before you even went onto anything else, let alone release a beta.

The only thing truly appealing(in my own opinion) about the hack so far is the mapping and the plot.
I hope you have addressed these problems before the next Beta release.

Why is this in Hack Showcase? It doesn't seem computed enough :(

Wow, to address your problems, i am not too good at scripting and i have just returned from holiday.
By putting out this mapped beta, i wanted to see what people would say about my mapping and now i am working on the scripting.
the next beta will have all (or most) of the scripting done.

I fail to see why this is in the Showcase without any scripting done. :( I'm going to move it to Progressing Hacks until you can get a beta done with scripting. Okay?

I like the storyline, and I respect how far you've mapped in the game for just the first BETA. I haven't played through every inch of it, but I noticed that in your list of programs you've used that you haven't used Advance-Text. A-Text is an excellent program for changing texts for already in-game dialogue...If you can't use it, you could always fire up XSE or PKSV, decompile a script, and re-type the replacement text (As long as you don't overwrite anything.) This would be a good way to change those FR Texts to give your BETA a more original feel...And yeah, as mentioned somewhere above, the re-leveled version is a MUST. (I seriously wanted to have a Flygon, but I got an un-raisable Trapinch. :( )

Anyway, that's all I can think of for now. Good luck with progressing!

yea sorry about the levels its all been fixed, i just used it to check for tile errors.
i could not find A-Text anywhere to download so i use XSE, if you have a site for it please post it.

Google helps. Dunno if it works, though...A-Text is known for problems on newer operating systems. https://www.romhacking.net/utils/427/

Looks Awesome. I'm going to play the beta now. I'll tell you what i think.

    Edit:
I played the beta and some trainers were in the thirties for the 3rd route. Also when i ever i picked a starter pokemon it would be level 100 and my rival would still be level 5

    Here's screenshots

    Spoiler:

Maps are good and tricky but basic.

Also i think the fire red one looks better
