    Hi,

I just made my first Pokémon FR hack.
I made the world map according to this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6fK2B1IEn4&ab_channel=AspiringPokeTrainer

On an emulator, the map works perfectly fine, but as soon as I play it on the GBA SP, it doesn't anymore.
When I open the map from my bag, in a Pokémon Center or when flying, the screen just turns black.
The music continues, but I can't do anything.

Does anyone know how I could fix this?

What emulator are you using? Mgba is supposedly pretty accurate to hardware so you might want to use that for testing if you don't already.
I'm not sure what your problem is but did you import the compressed graphics at a 4-byte aligned address (one ending in 0, 4, 8 or C)? I've seen graphics at non-aligned addresses not working properly on hardware before.

    Thanks for your reply!

I used NO$GBA for testing so far.

I just downloaded mGBA for another test and the emulator actually crashes when I try to open the map.
I attached the error message I'm getting. Maybe this helps.

I'm really a beginner at this. As I said it's my first hack.
So I don't really know what you mean by "4-byte aligned address", I'm sorry.
I just followed every step in the tutorial I linked.

Btw the error occurs on the island maps as well, although I only changed the main map.

Nevermind, I figured it out. You were right.

I took an Offset ending in C now and everything is working on mGBA as well as hardware.
Thank you so much! This is awesome.
