Woops, hadn't been here so long, put this on the wrong board beforehand.

Okay, most of you probably know me. I'm that idiot who made that horrible travesty known as, "Pokemon Neo," which was guarenteed to make your eyes bleed.

Although this probably is haughty, but I consider my skills to have gradually increased since the days I made that piece of work. Now, my main project is a certain OS called, "Infinite," but that's not the point of this thread, is it?

Anyways, not that long ago, I stupidly bumped the old Pokemon Neo thread & refused to cancel that horrible thing, based on something I even failed to describe well: I was sentimental.

So, now I think the Pokemon bug is starting to bite me again. (Yes, I hadn't played it in a while or anything.) And, I guess it's for the best to create yet another project. But go back to the travesty known as Pokemon Neo? No. Focus attention away from Infinite? No, not that either.

So, how about something small yet significant. The Pokemon G/S Spaceworld 1997 alpha, beta, whatever demo piqued my interest. So, yeah, I guess I'll recreate it.

I plan on using this article as reference:

...So, yeah, I probably caused some tl;drs. Let's just get to discussion & the usual critisism now.

You weren't gone long from what I recall...
Anyways, I recommend removing your hideous and outdated signature, and there isn't much else to comment on really.

I'm just curious as to what, creatively speaking, you hope to utilize from this source of inspiration. I mean, it was just an early concept screening based on the RBY engine that had about five minutes of gameplay. It had almost nothing in it; a town, a route and soem trainers was pretty much all it had.

When you say you want to "recreate" it, do you mean to actually create a perfect, pixel-for-pixel copy of the incomplete demo? If so, that'd be a pretty cool little project, but the time investment required wouldn't really be worth the 10 minutes of gameplay. Unless you want to create a full, complete game based on the demo... which is again, a bit confusing, since there's almost nothing to base things on in the first place.

Why was this aproved? It has no screens.
Anyway, I aggree with everything Mrchewy said.

Jordan, if that's the case, we're talking about... a dozen old concepts, if that. There's just not enough to model after.

With all that said though, I don't think its necessarily a bad idea to at least do something based on this old beta. It could be quite cool to see a fangame use Gen I graphics.
