Pokemon: Gym Leader Challenge (GLC)

Hi guys, I'm new to pokecommunity but not to forums in general. Anyways, I would like to talk about my idea of a potential awsome hack, for a brand new unique game.

Title: Pokemon: Gym Leader Challenge

Features: - New Region - Kikyo
- New Gym Leaders
- New Game Concept

Storyline: The game begins with you graduating from Gym Leader Training School. As a reward, you recieve a pokemon. ( Player chooses from a list; they aren't your typical starter pokemon ) Eventually, as a reward from your parent's they purchased a vacant gym in your home town, which you are going to run. One catch: you must gain experience from existing Gym Leaders in the region of Kikyo.

So, with you and your pokemon, you must travel from city to city, visiting the 8 gyms across the land. Each Gym Leader will teach you a little bit on how to become a powerful Leader. (Whereas if they show you how to make tricky traps, or teach you how to remain loyal to a certain element) After, you have gotten the approval of the 8 Gym Leaders, you must head back home to start your own gym and get it up and running.

The region's proffessor will then visit you. He or she will advise you to meet with the region's Elite 4. From there, you will be tested on your skills as a powerful potential leader. After your visit with the elite 4, it is time to start building your gym.

Here you would have to:

- Train your pokemon to be a certain level
- Plan the layout of your gym
- Create and get your own badge
- Travel around the region and ask certain trainers (you have already fought) to be your Jr. Trainers

After you done so, you open up your gym. Here, random trainers would enter, challenging you. (Their pokemon would be on random levels)

Once you have beaten a certain number of trainers, the Elite 4 will ask you to join their team. You agree, and become known as one of the toughest Leaders in all of Kikyo.

Game Ends.

So what do you think? A bit far-fetched? Hah!

I also have all the Gym Leaders planned out, their pokemon, their levels and their junior trainers.

I also have the layout of the region designed, the cities, the caves and the forests designed as well.

All that is left, is putting this into a game, cause frankly I have no idea how...

You're idea of creating a gym within the game is the part where the possibility of your dream coming true goes sour. Since you are hacking a Pokemon RPG game, you have to keep within the boundaries of that game. But if you want to make an entirely new game, go ahead. But it will be a lot harder that way...

I agree with kebz95 it seems like a good idea and i actually would like to play it but I seems it would be a bit hard to impletment unless, as kebz95 said, You create a whole new game.

I actually want to see this one done but I'm not very good at scripting but Good Luck.

Actually, your dream isn't so sour. After thinking it through, I believe that, by hacking Ruby, Sapphire or Emerald, you can make that Gym thing come true. With some advanced scripting, you can even make trainers appear at your Gym.

To do this, you must somehow be able to disable getting Secret Power (the move to make Secret Bases) until you beat the Elite Four. The move Secret Power will be your reward, and with that, you could build a Secret Base (which won't be secret anymore due to it becoming a public Gym). With powerful scripting, you could transform your Secret Base into a Gym by making trainers appear every time. There could be a trainer standing at the door of the Gym, and he would change every day.

Obviously, I wouldn't know how to do this, as I'm no expert in scripting myself. But, if you mastered scripting, you could make this hack real.

The thing about Secret Bases is exactly my thought.

Good idea in theory, but ridiculously hard to implement. I wish you luck, young grasshopper. I mean fly.

In that case, I don't think your idea's going to be a reality. Sorry to say, but many people just don't have the time to work on such a complicated hack. Though if you want to make this hack a reality, download tools from the toolbox. Hacking isn't as hard as you think.
Here are some really good tools. Download them and play around with them using any other Advance rom other than emerald:
-Advance Map: Mapping tool
-XSE: Scripting tool that is generally easier to use than others

You should also read about hacking and scripting on the Documents and Tutorials section. There are really helpful documents there for you to read, and you can refer to them at any time.

Nah, being serious, it's not that hard to hack OR make a Pokemon RPG. Pick one or the other and go find some tutorials!
