3rd Gen Pokemon Leaf Green

Hi I have Pokemon Leaf green ruby and yellow. I have several questions. If someone has windows live or msn messenger (same thing) then that would be a better means of communication however I will state some questions here. I realized I can trade between Leaf Green and Ruby however what other games can trade between eachother I know they can trade within their generations such as rby, sgc, and rse. However can any other different generations trade within eachother like fl and rsc do? Also in order to obtain all the pokemon in Leafgreen Firered do you need any other game? AHHH! my questions can keep going for a long time so if you have windows live messenger that would be better. ps (I used to be a really big pokemon player then i stopped for several years and today I just got back into it so thats why)

I realized I can trade between Leaf Green and Ruby however what other games can trade between eachother

RBY and GSC can only trade between those two generations (as in, for example, Red to Gold and vice versa, but not Red to Ruby or Fire Red or Gold to Ruby or Fire Red).

RSE and FrLg can trade between each other (as in Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald to Fire Red and Leaf Green and vice versa) after you've obtained the National Dex in FrLg and completed Celio's side quest (i.e. obtain the Ruby and Sapphire Plates).

RSE and FrLg can do one-way transfers to DP. As in, you can transfer Pokemon from RSE or FrLg to DP, but you don't send anything from DP. (Nor can you get the Pokemon that you sent to DP back.)

So, long story short, considering Gen I (RBY), Gen II (GSC), Gen III (RSE and FrLg), and Gen IV (DP):

- Gen I can trade to Gen II but not III or IV.
- Gen II can trade to Gen I but not III or IV.
- Gen III games can trade between each other, regardless of title.
- Gen III games can transfer Pokemon to Gen IV.
- Gen IV cannot send Pokemon (even ones transferred from a Gen III game) back to Gen III.

Also in order to obtain all the pokemon in Leafgreen Firered do you need any other game?

The Hoenn Pokemon are pretty much unobtainable in Fire Red and Leaf Green, so you need Ruby, Sapphire, and/or Emerald. You'll also probably want to invest in the side games such as Colosseum and XD, as those have Pokemon that aren't obtainable on any of the mainstream games (such as Ho-oh and Lugia).
