    Pokemon Legend in Making [PG]

At first, I noticed Pokemon Legends: The Johto Saga, but it is just coincidence (or lack of fantasy) that both fanfics begin with Pokemon Legend... and take place (mostly) in the Johto-Region. Pokemon Legend in Making is a sequel to my first (Dutch) Pokemon Fanfic Pokemon New Legend, taking place in the Kanto-Region. I got a beta reader on this one, but I don't think he's gonna answer on my polished episode, so I think I'll let you rate this one and polish it after a couple comments. So here I present you

    Pokemon: Legend in Making

Episode 1: The End of the Beginning

"Ladies and gentlemen," the stadium speaker yelled enthusiastic. "We're back at the quarter final between Andrew, from Viridian City, and Cian, from Saffron Shadow. Both trainers are down to their last three Pokémon. Andrew has defeated Cian's Kingler and Machop with ease, but his Primeape and Rhyhorn were no match for Cian third Pokémon Dragonite and even Poliwhirl with its Ice Beam attack couldn't beat Dragonite properly, making that head-on-head battle ending in a draw. For the rules sake the battlefield has been changed in a rock field. Which of these trainers will be victorious on this hard underground? Andrew chose his Pokémon first in the first half, so this time Cian will choose his Pokémon first."

"Alright, Dugtrio, let's go!" Cian yelled almost out of control from determination and the fourteen-year old boy with the light blue hair threw the Poké Ball into the rocky area. The Poké Ball gushed out a stream of white smoke that slowly faded away to reveal a hardy-looking Dugtrio.

"Okay, Dugtrio!" Andrew said also determined, but also curious about this Pokémon he heard so much about, but hasn't seen before. The blond haired, thirteen year old kid pulled out a Pokédex out of his pocket and scanned the Pokémon with the dark red pocket computer.
Dugtrio. The mole Pokémon and the evolved form of Diglett. Dugtrio can dig about eighty kilometers under the earth surface. When digging close to the earth surface it sometimes destroys water pipes by accident.

"A Ground-type, huh? Pidgeot, let's go!" Andrew called and he threw his Poké Ball in the air. The Poké Ball unleashed the white smoke like the Poké Ball before and a large bird Pokémon came out of it.

"We've got an advantage, let's utilize it," Andrew whispered in himself. "Pidgeot, Quick Attack!"

The Pidgeot began to gain speed, trying to strike Dugtrio headfirst.

    "Dugtrio, Dig."

Dugtrio dodged Pidgeots attack quickly by digging himself underground.

"Crap!" Andrew yelled, "A bad start." He knew too well that on this level every strike has to hit. "Pidgeot there is no way he hit you when you stay high!"

"Alright Dugtrio, come out and use Sandstorm!" Cian commanded. The Dugtrio popped out of the ground and began to glow. The sand in the stadium began to whirl around Dugtrio, making it invisible, while Pidgeot struggles to stay airborne while the sand is getting everywhere in the birds body.
"Repel it, Pidgeot! Gust!" Andrew called. The Pokémon Trainer was pretty nervous as Pidgeot seemed to lose its advantage. Pidgeot began to flap its wings at incredible speed repelling the course sand. The sandstorm subsided, but Dugtrio was already underground.

"Stay high, Pidgeot!" Andrew instructed his Pokémon.

"Dugtrio, come out again and Sandstorm!" Cian said. Dugtrio showed itself again.

"Agility, Pidgeot," Andrew commanded. Pidgeot began to gain speed while flying.
Dugtrio started to whip up sand again.

"Steel Wing!" Andrew said and Pidgeot hit the ground near Dugtrio with its wing charged in Steel-type energy. Repelling the sand again.

    "Now, Steel Wing! Again!"

With a swift move Pidgeot charged his idle wing and struck Dugtrio hard.

"Don't let it fool you, Dugtrio!" Cian said. "Use Sandstorm again!"

Dugtrio whipped up a Sandstorm again and Pidgeot got caught pretty badly in the sandstorm. But despite of that, Andrew got some confidence back.

"Hit it, Steel Wing again!" Andrew yelled.

Pidgeot struck the source of the Sandstorm swiftly with a Steel Wing attack and as a reaction it looked like a huge sand bomb exploded in the area of the action. The sand subsided and a knocked-out Dugtrio was found lying on the ground. Pidgeot was a couple of meters above it, struggling with keeping itself together.

"Dugtrio return," Cian said while aiming his Poké Ball at Dugtrio. The red beam emerged from the red-white, Poké Ball absorbed the Dugtrio. "Dugtrio, you were awesome," Cian buckled the Poké Ball on its belt and picked another one from it. "Aerodactyl, I choose you!" Cian tossed the Poké Ball high in the air this time, suggesting that the Poké Ball contained some air Pokémon, and yes, it was an air Pokémon. Aerodactyl seemed to be some sort of a flying hawk. It had a very vicious glance and short, razor sharp teeth. It was almost totally grey and it looked heavy and hard.

"And it is an Aerodactyl, ladies and gentlemen" the speaker exclaimed. "The legendary Pokémon from the past. How will Andrew cope with this?"

Aerodactyl, the Fossil Pokémon. A Pokémon that roamed the skies in the dinosaur era. Its teeth are like saw blades

"A fossil Pokémon," Andrew whispered to himself again, "I wonder how he obtained thát! Pidgeot, are you ready?"

Pidgeot nodded and collected its powers.

"All right, let's see what it does, Steel Wing!"

    "Aerodactyl, counter with Wing Attack!"

Both Pokémons wings were glowing and the two Flying-type Pokémon struck each other's right wing with their own, resulting in a wing-on-wing face-off between them. Both Pokémon tried to push their wings through the other. Pidgeot had a hard time to fight the rock hard wing with his own weakened wing. Pidgeots bad condition resulted in Aerodactyl winning the wing battle with relative ease. Pidgeot was knocked back and its wing took a lot of damage.

"Pidgeot, how are you?" Andrew asked worried. Pidgeot looked back, cried something and showed its confident face. After that he looked at Aerodactyl in a very belligerent.

"Okay, but watch out. That Aerodactyl seems to be pretty strong to me." Andrew concluded and he began to sweat starting to worry how to beat that beast with Pidgeot. "Pidgeot! Agility."

    "Aerodactyl, use Crunch!"

Pidgeot began to fly pretty fast, but its lack of energy made its speed boost very limited, allowing Aerodactyl to catch up Pidgeot. Aerodactyl attacked Pidgeot from the side, biting Pidgeot in its abdomen. Pidgeot was unable to counter-attack in its current position and it was crying out his pain.

"Aerodactyl, you know what to do!" Cian said. Aerodactyl flew in the direction of one of the rocks with the helpless Pidgeot between its fangs and right when Aerodactyl was close to the rock it released Pidgeot, sending it careening into the rock. The bird Pokémon didn't stand up.
    "Pidgeot is unable to battle!"

"And Pidgeot is down and out!" the speaker announced to the crowd. "Both trainers are now down to two Pokémon, and since Aerodactyl hardly broke a sweat the battle is all open again!"

"Pidgeot, return!" Andrew said and Pidgeot returned into its Poké Ball. As fast as he can he picked his next Pokémon. "Charmeleon, go!"

"And it is a Charmeleon. It should have a disadvantage against a Pokémon like Aerodactyl, is Andrew up to something?"

"This should be quick, Aerodactyl! Crunch!" Cian yelled confident.

    "Charmeleon, Smokescreen"

Aerodactyl charged towards Charmeleon who blew out a cloud of black smoke. Aerodactyl went in reckless, but didn't come out. The smoke subsided and it looked like Charmeleon dodged Aerodactyls attack and dug its Metal Claw in Aerodactyls abdomen stopping it from charging further. The Charmeleon struggled with stopping Aerodactyl with this Metal Claw technique, but Charmeleon managed to stop him in the end.

"Wing Attack!" Cian said and Aerodactyl hit the Flame Pokémon under him with its wing. Charmeleon rolled over the place stopping against a rock. It quickly stood up before noticing Aerodactyl recovered from Charmeleons attack combination and was flying two meters from the ground.

    "Aerodactyl, Hyper Beam!"

Aerodactyl charged a yellow-orange globe and launched it at Charmeleon.

"Charmeleon dodge!" Andrew said and Charmeleon came free at the last second from the tremendous powerful attack from the ancient Pokémon.

"He has to recharge, so this is our chance," Andrew said confident. "Charmeleon, use one of the rocks to jump at Aerodactyl."

Charmeleon took a run-up, hit a rock with its feet and launched itself to Aerodactyls height.

"Metal Claw!" Andrew yelled, and Charmeleon, responding to the cry, landed and sunk its claws into the Aerodactyl's rough back, where it latched on with grim determination. Aerodactyl was crying out its pain and began to fly very awkward.
"Shake him off!" Cian said. His face showed he realized that his Pokémon is in trouble. Aerodactyl began to fly even more awkward, helplessly trying to shake Charmeleon from its back, but Charmeleons claw dug deeper in Aerodactyls back.

    "Pull yourself up!" Andrew called.

"Smash him into a rock!" Cian said.

"Oh no!" Andrew said "Not again!"

Charmeleon saw the rock coming close and gathered all of his strength to launch himself in the air using Aerodactyl as contra-weight. It ended up above Aerodactyl, where it began to glow, slowly the Fire-type began to change shape and large wings were noticeable. The glow disappeared and a Charizard was flying above the stadium. The Charizard looked around and to his wings. The crowd was going crazy and gave Charizard a standing ovation. Cian applauded as well.

"Wow, ladies and gentlemen," the speaker sounded. "Andrews Charmeleon evolved into Charizard. This Pokémon seemed to be so determined that its determination caused it to evolve. It looks like a brand new battle now!"

"Charizard, that's great!" Andrew said "Let's show off your power, kay?"

Charizard nodded at his trainer in determination.

"Okay Charizard, Smokescreen!" Andrew said and he put extra power to the line by lifting its hand to point at Aerodactyl. Charizard launched a huge amount of black smoke to blind Aerodactyl who was still flying beneath him.

"Aerodactyl, ascend!" Cian said and he flew above the smoke. Neither trainer could tell what their Pokémon were up to. The smoke subsided a bit and the two Pokémon were fighting hand-on-hand in the sky.

    "Charizard!" Andrew said, "Iron Tail!"

Charizard somersaulted around and whipped its metallic tail in Aerodactyls face.

"Aerodactyl, Stone Edge!" Cian ordered and Aerodactyl summoned a band of rock around him and launched them in Charizard's direction, hitting the dragon hard.

Both Charizard and Aerodactyl were very tired and low on health. They were heavily panting and they kept looking at each other with their eyes frowned.

    "Aerodactyl, Wing Attack!" Cian said.

"Metal Claw!" Andrew commanded, but instead Charizard attacked Aerodactyl with its own wing, showing its new learned Wing Attack to Andrew.

"Of course!" Andrew said, "You know Wing Attack!"

The two wings collided and the two Pokémon bounced back. Both Pokémon stood up staring each other deep in the eyes. They looked like they were waiting for someone to faint. After five seconds Aerodactyl lost its consciousness and fell to the ground. Three seconds later Charizard fell down.
"Oh, and it is a draw again!" the announcer voiced "First Poliwhirl and Dragonite, now Charizard and Aerodactyl. Both trainers are down to one Pokémon. What will it be?"

"Return Charizard, you were great!" Andrew said, shaking nervously. "Venusaur, let's go!" Venusaur, Andrews first and most loyal Pokémon was sent on the battlefield.

"Typhlosion, I choose you!" Cian said confident. He threw a Poké Ball forward on the rock field. A Fire-type Pokémon appeared. It had a dark blue back and a yellow chest and belly. Fire was exposed on Typhlosions neck and wrists.

"Typhlosion, let's check it out!" Andrew said.
    No data
    "What, this Pokémon must be…"

"It is a Typhlosion!" the announcer announced loudly. "The evolved form from one of the Johto starters Cyndaquil. This species are rarely seen in this region. Check out its powers! He will battle against Andrews Venusaur the evolved form of the well-known starter Pokémon Bulbasaur. Venusaur seems to be in a nasty disadvantage."

"We'll see," Andrew said. "Venusaur, Earthquake."

Venusaur began to stand on its haunches and slammed on the hard floor to use its full weight to create a devastating earthquake in the stadium. The whole stadium was shaking and a lot of rocks broke by the power of the earthquake. Typhlosion had a hard time to stand his ground.
"Typhlosion, use Defense Curl!" Cian commanded. Typhlosion curled its body to endure the earthquake.

    "Now Rollout!" Cian said.

After the earthquake subsided Typhlosion began to roll over the rock hard arena ground in the direction of Venusaur.

    "Venusaur, counter with Razor Leaf!"

Venusaur summoned a countless amount of tiny sharp leaves and shot them at Typhlosion, who was barreling towards them at high speed. The leaves seemed to be keeping the Typhlosion temporarily at bay, but it wasn't a long-term solution.

"Venusaur, throw him in the air, then use SolarBeam!" Andrew said.

Venusaur began to lay down causing Typhlosion to smash in Venusaurs face. Venusaur used its big head to throw Typhlosion up in the air, while absorbing energy from the bright sunshine.

    "Typhlosion, Fire Blast!" Cian called.

Typhlosion blew a large amount of fire in Venusaurs direction, while Venusaur launches his powerful SolarBeam right in the beam of fire. The two attacks collide and both Pokémon were fighting to get their attacks through. Venusaurs energy reserves seemed to be empty as it slowly was pushed back.
"Venusaur, watch out!" Andrew yelled, but it was too late. Venusaur didn't notice there was a rock behind him before he hit it. Venusaur startled and suddenly stopped the SolarBeam. Typhlosion saw his chance and put extra fire in its attack hitting Venusaur extremely bad. Venusaur was screaming out of pain, but the attack wasn't stopping.

"Stop!" the referee ordered. "It's over!"

Typhlosion stopped its attack as well. The flames subsided and the Venusaur was defeated. There were burning wounds everywhere on his body.

"Venusaur," a worried Andrew ran to his injured Pokémon. "How are you."

Venusaur was almost squeaking out of pain.

"Oh my," Andrew said "this is… bad."

(don't expect every episode this long, my battles tend to be longer than other episodes)
