New Pokemon and old friends make their debut!
More mysteries and new legendary Pokemon galore!
Niohe Region Legendary Myth [Trio includes Arceus]
Before Arceus finished shaping the world of Pokemon and its inhabitants, it is said that it created two creatures responsible for keeping natural cycles in order and maintaining a balance between power and stability. The two regulated the seasons, day and night, and were responsible for creating the many orbs found in other Pokemon games (Red, Blue, Luminous, Griseous, and Adamant orbs) that balanced power between the orb and the Legendary so that it did not corrupt the world.
Because they have balanced powers, one will be fire and psychic, and the other will be ice and dark. This only made it easier for the two to combat each other, each knowing the other would not win. So Arceus intervened and created three legendary beings, submerged at the three hidden capes of Niohe, keeping the Cyclic Orb [created to maintain peace, but whoever has it in their possession has complete power over natural cycles] from leaving the underground catacombs of the tall Mount Aureola, and prevent anyone or thing from disturbing the natural cycles of life and nature.
Kicking Off Your Adventure…
It starts in Dewdrop Town, where the player has a house that changes depending on who the main character is. If you're a girl, you get the pink-roofed house in the northwest section of the town. If you're a boy, you get the blue-roofed house in the southeast corner of the town.
You [as the player] will be reminded that you wanted to attend the grand opening of the Pokemon Database, a tall building just northeast of the town, devoted to the storage of Pokemon Data across the entire (known) Pokemon world. The scatterbrained Professor Aspen is heading the project.
You attempt to leave town, but the character of the gender you did not select (default names have not been decided yet) confronts you, and then tags along. You don't make it in time to see the speech, but you do happen to see the Professor's assistant standing around outside, waiting to go do field research. Then, the Professor herself bursts from the lab, dashing up Route 401 to get to Sealcove City's harbor, where a piece important to the Database's data registration has been on hold for her (and she conveniently forgot). The assistant recommends you come back and visit the next day, when the Professor has her thoughts together. You and your friend go home empty-handed. But not for long…
The screen blacks out and you are home again. Your mother comes up the steps and says that someone is at the door. She doesn't seem to be familiar with them…
It turns out to be the assistant. He says he is worried about the well-being of the Professor; she hasn't returned from Sealcove City. He tells you to get your neighbor, and the three of you meet up at the entrance of Route 401. The assistant presents three Poke Balls, each of you getting one for protection when traveling up the route. You then split up and agree to meet up in Sealcove City, where the search for the Professor begins…
New features? You bet!
The return of a National Park, as well as a Radio Tower, TV Station, and Pokemon Dojo!
A colosseum on an island off the coast of Palmaçade City!
Finally, a Dark-type gym! [Does not exist in real Pokemon games]
Bringing back the Rainforest! (like in Hoenn!)
A hydroelectric dam northwest of Naturidge City!
More mysterious ruins than ever before!
A Pokemon Castle? What mysteries await here?

New Pokemon, of course!

--Harmonia City Gym (Dark Types) Leader Marlene; Versant Badge
