    STORY:
    You wake up in the beautiful region of Kochaki, as the new kid in town. You start in Pinetree Town, only 12 year old, and ready for an adventure. lots of places to go to also. You go to Professor Maple's house and find out that he is having a problem. he wants you to get the package from Jack, one of the Prof's old friends who lives in Vultidal town, to him. he will let you have 1 pokemon to protect you. when you do, he will then give you the pokemon, 5 pokeballs and $2000. his Grandaughter, Jennifer, chooses her pokemon and heads off into Vultidal woods, where she wants to battle you. into Vultidal woods, if you win or lose, then you go back to the prof. lab with Jennifer and you both claim your pokedex. now your adventure begins....

    these guys want every single pokemon in the world, even the rare dinosaur ones. they are looking for the 2 most legendary pokemon (not like Groudon and Kyogre btw) is the legendary Sky and Giant pokemon. they are also looking for the 3 legendary bird pokemon, which are locked away in 3 temples, and the 2 dinosaur pokemon which have been dormant for many years.

    Features:
    150 new pokemon, mostly dinosaurs
    8 gyms
    loads of events
    10 legendaries. (3 only caught through events)
    5 of those legendaries are dinosaurs.

    other features:
    possibly a different entering door clip, similar to raptor, but with the character going through it
    poison gas area (need gas mask or oxygen tank)
    need certain Keycards for different facilities (the 3 main cities)
    different music for different events, like the drought in R/S (music may last through pokemon battle as well, wont know how to do that)

    Note: The dinosaur pokemon are active in the game, not fossilized, including Aerodactyl, Cranidos, Rampardos, Shieldon, and Bastiodon. other pokemon which are fossilized will not appear in the game.

    Sounds good, are the dinosaur pokemon just gonna be a type or look like dinosaurs ?
     
    definately gonna be a different type for a different dinosaur. Like Firanno and Icema, Firanno is a fire type and Icema is a (well, you guessed it) Ice type. as for other dinosaurs, some can evolve into bigger ones. i think about 80 of the pokemon will be dinosaur types.
     
    And some dinosaur eggs that hatch into Dinosaur type pokemon ?
    Will any of the legends be undersea ?
     
    yeah you could, leave them in the day care centre and within a day or so, an egg is formed. although it takes 2 days to hatch.

    Icema is an undersea legendary, note the name: ice(ma) -> Elas(mo)saurus.
    i think a grass type will be hard to think up of.

    Canoptor? (Canopy + Raptor)
     
    you could be onto something, i was thinking Canoptor -> Canaptor -> Locileaf. (pronounced Lo-se-leaf)

    got another one which may be good as a 3 way evo but wont be a starter. got even a pre-evo for Aerodactyl, which is Dactin.

    got 61 names, now need another 89.
     
    Well, first things I thought when I saw this thread's title were something to the effect of: "Wait a minute. Ovir and Plesio? Odd names for Pokemon. They sound more like the names of ancient creatures. This must be one of those 'fossil versions'." I was right. (Oh, and fossil version is something I call Pokemon games that take place at any point in the history of the Pokemon world, or with what would be, in most games, fossilized Pokemon. It also applies to fanfics, etc.) Also, the origins for the names are what, Oviraptor and Plesiosaur? I know that Oviraptors were a type of dinosaur, but the sea creature called a Plesiosaur was technically an entirely different kind of reptile. Also, I think this is a unique, if rather large, game idea. If you have development experiance, you can probably pull at least part of this off, but if this is your first time, you might want to take a simpler project first.

    True, this is my first time, and yes, i may want to do a simpler project, but this IS Plot and Story idea space. not trying to argue with you in any way.

    i know it will be very hard to pull off, i agree. the dinosaur pokemon are not fossilized, they are active. if they were fossilized, i would only have about 40 new active pokemon in the game.
     
    Sounds good so far. Maple has been used a lot, you might wanna change it. I guess you really like dinosaurs ^_^
     
    ok i will change the professor's name. Professor Yew will be his name.

    yeah i do. ^_^ i dont think this idea has been tried before, and i might be the first to try it.

    would love to see that this project gets somewhere.

    If your a great scripter go for it.

    RPG MAKER is easier and easier to navigate.

    Hmm...Cano and Cana are a little similar. How about this?

    Locileaf -> Raptopy -> Velarbor

    And a few more...

    Dactin -> Aerodactyl -> Aerodon
    Omanite -> Omastar -> Omalaxy
    Kabuto -> Kabutops -> Kabucera

    Plus some I just made up....

    Arkelox (Turtle, Water/Steel) -> Arkterax (Dragon/Steel)
    Dodycurse     (Armadillo, Ground/Dark) -> Glyphdod (Same)
    Yangcho / Yincho (Based off the Yangchuosaurus)

    Get more dino names and descriptions from this site.
     
    hmm... you may be onto something again Prof. i like those ideas.

    i was thinking for the evo of Aerodactyl, it would be Flydon.
    Kabuto, Kabutops, Omynite and Omastar will not appear in the game.
    the turtle type sounds like a good one. Arkelox and Arkterax, i think both should be Water/Steel. Also Yangcho, hard to think of what type that might be with its size. :\

    i had another good one, Delino -> Stransia (Inostrancevia)

    doesnt sound bad, i will stick with what you said Ionic. Raptopy doesnt seem right, Canaptor seems better. so the line is Locileaf -> Velabor -> Canaptor.

    the fire Starter's line up is Rabeat -> Raburn -> Flamare. (not a dinosaur, a rabbit pokemon.)
     
    it is, think of it like Cyndaquil. i also had a water starter in mind as well.

    Pinki -> Pingua -> Zipingi. very hard to think up of a water starter.
