I live in England and I went into Game the other day and I noticed that on the eshop cards they were selling for Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow was a PEGI 12 certificate. What makes the gen 1 re-releases a 12? I don't remember there being anything 12 rated in the original Red, Blue, and Yellow versions, Pokemon games are usually rated 3+ or 7 in the UK.

I don't know the details of the UK's rating system, but I'm guessing that's a more mature rating then you were expecting?
If so, my guess is the gambling of the game corner and possibly Lavender Tower's ghosts since it actually involves death.

Ohhh! Well that explains a lot. I thought it was because Team Rocket are a bit more criminal and threatening in gen 1.
