Hey, kids. I've developed a small RPG system that needs a few test players.

There aren't many rules, and the system is more RP-based than "roll"-playing. There is some dice tossing, but like the games themselves, alot of the mechanics are automatic. I'm looking for a few people to help me test play the system over Skype.

There's plenty of things to learn, and I'm sure there are some bugs that have to be ironed out. But, here are the basics:

HP is determined by the Pokemon's HP + it's level.

Attacks are made by declaring it (of course) and then rolling a d20. The number you have to roll UNDER is figured as such: Start by dividing the accuracy of the attack by 5, and then add or subtract points for each stat change. An increase in the attacker's Attack, Special Attack, and/or Speed will result in a higher number to roll under. Conversely, an increase in the defender's Defense, Special Defense, and/or Evasion lower the number, making it more likely the attack will fail.

Damage on a successful attack is handled similarly, with the damage of the attack divided by five, with added damage from attack from Attack or Special Attack. Damage is also lowered by Defense or Special Defense.

For example: The attacker, a Poochyena, has used Howl and is now attacking with Tackle, which has an accuracy of 100. Divide by 5, and you get 20. Add one to this number for the +1 from Howl, and the total number is 21. Now, let's say he's attacking a Geodude who used Defense Curl in the previous round. Rock-types are resistant to Normal attacks, and his defense was raised. The resistance subtracts two from the number, and the +1 defense lowers the number down one again, for a grand total or 18. That's the number the attacker has to roll under for a successful attack. If the attack succeeds, then you calculate the damage as normal. Tackle does 50 in the games, so we divide by 5 and see that it would do a base of 10 in here. Adding the +1 from Howl to it, but then decreasing -3 from resistance and Defense Curl, the total is 8. Adding the Poochyena's Attack to it, and subtracting the Geodude's Defense, and we have the total damage inflicted.

    ...think you got all that?

Anyway, it's much easier for me to explain this stuff in person. If you're interested in helping me out, please reply to this.

Go ahead and post this in the Team Recruitment thread. This isn't the right section for this.
