Game Help: Pokemon:Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald - Empty Batteries & Timebased Events

Recently I've bought the pokemon game 'Sapphire' on Ebay. Now I want to buy 'Emerald' too, but it seems the battery has run dry in each game cartridge I come across. What time based events won't work anymore (also in 'Sapphire')? Can someone tell me more details?
And to all users who bought these games with an already emptied battery, how did you feel about it, did you still enjoyed playing the game, did you still feel satisfied?

A dead battery is really nothing to worry about, because nothing serious is being affected. Only the following will be affected:

- Berries stop growing
- Eevee can only evolve into Espeon or Umbreon
- Lilycove Dept. Store never has any sales
- The clock in your bedroom will be frozen
- The Energy Guru never sells vitamins cheap
- The ID lotto can't be done anymore
- The tide in Shoal Cave never changes
- The Return/Frustration man in Pacifidlog stops giving out TMs
