3rd Gen Pokemon Starter

u asked me which starter pokemon i used Maybe squirtle...
 
it's just like the original red and blue... bulbasaur is easiest because he's strong against Brock and Misty, squirtle is medium because he's only strong against Brock, and charmander is the hardest to start off with because he's weak against both of them.
 
It really doesn't matter... all of them can win the game just as easily, even Charmander against the first 2 gyms.

All you need is high level. lvl 20 Charmeleon can whip Brock with metal claw in one hit =) while Slash destroys Misty.
 
Well, here's a quick review on all 3 starters:

Bulbasaur: Probably the best pick for early on in the game. Bulbasaur will help you do well against the first two gyms (Brock with a 4 x advantage, Misty with 2 x advantage in terms of damage), and turns into a very powerful and versatile Pokemon that can do a lot of roles in competitive battles - attack, annoy, mega heal. I'd say he was the easiest of the 3 starters to use because of the early advantage, and has only a weakness to one gym (Blaine's Fire Gym). Ease of use: 6/10

Squirtle: The mid-ranger. Can do well against the first gym, but evens out towards the middle areas, and is bad to use against Surge and Erika. Overall, it's a good tank that can take lots of damage, and dish out a considerable amount as well. Ease of use about 7/10

Charmander: The hardest to use because of his heavy disadvantage to the first two gyms, Charmander gets better to use later on, and owns totally against Erika. I consider Charizard to be the most powerful of the three starters, if only for the fact you can breed Dragon Dance onto him :-). Despite that, he's not easy to use, and his type makes selecting moves a little tricky. Ease of use: 5/10.

So, overall - pick Bulbasaur if you want an easy start, but Squirtle is the easiest to use through the whole game. Just my coupla coins on the matter
 
i always go for who i'd want to look at for the whole game lol. just pick your favorite. mine=Charmander
 
my charmeleon's level 20 and it still doesn't know slash! when does he learn it..... i'm tired of dishin out prize money to misty....... *cries like a baby*

i'd suggest catching a grass type right near the gym. that'd be your best bet =/
 
If you don't train evenly(I sure don't) Make sure Charmeleon is at least lv 25. (mine was 31) I beat misty like that.
 
haha i don't train evenly either. but i use items and moves cleverly so i don't have to
 
im going to pick squrtile.ive got a good plan for him.
 
it dun matter who you start with. the trainers in the game are pushovers anyway. i started with charmander and i wrecked havock on brock with metal claw. i used my pikachu on misty and a dugrtrio on surge. it's important to not rely too much on your starter.
 
brock: Squirtle
Misty: Gloom
Surge: Gloom(resistence)
Erica: Pigeot
Koga: Haunter + Psychic
Sabrina: Haunter
Blaine: Blastoise
Giovanni: Blastoise

I like squirtle so I choose him
 
In my opinion, Squirtle's the best choice. Like what other people said, he's good against Brock, and tied with Misty. And like what someone else said, it's best not to rely too much on your starter. You can use Squirtle against Misty by using physical attacks, like tackle or strength. He's bad against Surge, so maybe catching a diglett from diglett's cave can help. Also, in Cerulean, that robbery thing happens, so you'll get dig after defeating the rocket.
 
Squirtle is the best. I like water pokemons now, so yeah, squirtle.
 
I'd pick squirtle. I did it's easy to get through the game with him. Or bulbasuar. I personally don't like charmander. But it's your choice.
