Yeah I still can't figure out why you're experiencing that visual glitch. Maybe try VBA-M as an emulator?
To try and eliminate some variables on my end, what's the version of VBA-M you're currently using?
I have been playing on mGBA 0.10.3, but was able to recreate (with the same completed game save file) on both whatever old version of VBA-M I had(seen below), and on VBA-M 2.1.9

I guess I'll need to try on a fresh 1.33 save (to rule out some sort of saved data corruption) + use codes to get the full set of cards so I can see if I can reproduce it on 1.33 using VBA-M (or on 1.35 later when I sort out whatever is happening for 1.35 Legacy on my end). Then again, as I still haven't figured out if there's any serious issues the weird upper-left text graphical glitch(es) create (on v1.33, at least), so I'm not super concerned about for now
pre-posting edit:: I started up a new game of the re-balanced v1.35, used a code for infinite email Booster packs, opened email 3 for 10+ minutes, and was able to replicate the text glitch in the PC's 'card album', and under 'Revelation' once I had all 59/59 cards. I'll bother with trying to replicate the 'CARD' menu text glitch (the screenshot above) on a fresh file later, but suspect it will happen if I collect enough colorless cards -- as the text changed the exact same way for me as it had on Legacy v1.33. When you checked to see if you could replicate this using the in-game PC, did you have all 59/59 cards from the "Revelation" packs?

is anyone else able to save a new file on Legacy 1.35 and then successfully play after saving?

I'm still trying to troubleshoot that issue I ran into with the map on Legacy 1.35 (look for Mark in the corner in screenshots below), and need to have someone check if they can replicate this

for me, this issue happens if I:

  • create a new save (in the lab, if it matters)
  • change 'CONFIG' settings in the menu to "5" speed and "Skip Some" (unclear if this is important)
  • save my game 'DIARY' in menu
  • reload the game
  • try and continue my newly created save file
  • end up trapped on the map
another pre-posting edit:: I figured I'd try playing a little further in, defeated 1 trainer in the Grass Club lobby, saved, but also found myself in the map corner after loading my save (playing on VBA-M 2.1.9)

The booster pack fix will be in the next update. I followed all the steps you did to try and replicate the map stuck glitch, still nothing. I'll try to recreate getting all cards in Revelation again to test- last time I did not have those setting admittedly. Will update if I find anything. I do think I know what is causing that visual glitch, however it should have already been dealt with, which confuses me. In the meantime, let me tell you my exact specifications when I play VBAM. (Note: On Delta for IOS, I just have default settings and these glitches don't appear either)

EDIT: I did finally activate the revelation text glitch. As I thought, the glitch happens because certain booster packs are not able to handle text past a certain amount of cards in menu (it's weird). Give me some time to collect all the cards, as this will either be extraordinarily easy to fix, or actually impossible, depending on if I can relocate 1 revelation card to another pack without causing the same glitch to occur. This is what happens when you reduce the promo cards from 20 to 8, and then add more cards than the base game… I guess I can solve the problem by making another promo card but that feels wrong…

Note 2: this is probably the same glitch that causes the colorless pokemon menu too, as colorless got increased a ton from bad.

EDIT: I will be posting a V1.4 soon, and it will fix all the glitches described by NoYawns, as well as some other stuff.

This will be the final for reals definitely last version of TCG Neo. If you all find bugs, fix them yourself D8<

Version 1.4 is up! It contains bug fixes, new effects, new balance changes and a lot of QoL features!

As an important sidenote, advances in poketcg have made it possible to get up to 510 cards on this rom!! However, I won't be taking advantage of this. It would take way too much time (that I don't have) to port all my stuff to another base, and TCG Neo was never that sort of hack to begin with. However... you all may have noticed that 1 of the 2 requirements I stipulated to make Pokemon TCG: Advanced, as expanding the card pool. The other was putting more colors on the card sprites. Now that 1 of them has been met, I have decided to start making sprites for this potential game. Still not promising I'll do it, but the way advancments are happening, it's definitely possible that I will.

Until then though, have fun playing my game! Or just have fun in general!

(Also: My internet is borked right now so I won't be able to reply for a couple of days. Meaning that if you discover any bugs, just fix them yourself D8<)

Confusion mechanics have been updated. It is now possible to freely retreat a confused pokémon.
I'm bound to get back into this hack soon and test this myself, but does this mean if your Pokémon is confused and fails to retreat because of the confusion retreat coin flip, it won't discard Energy cards unless it retreats successfully? or is a successful coin flip when confused and retreating just free altogether?

Overall, this update looks big and awesome! Thanks again Cataclyptic

it works exactly as it does in modern TCG, that is, you don't need to flip a coin to be able to retreat.

As Paperfire88 below said. If you are confused, you can just retreat.
 
¿Is master ball available only by waiting to Ishihara to trade it with you? In the word document says also fire club, but I don´t know how to get it there.

In fire club, a character will ask for all your energy cards. Say yes and he'll tell you about a prize behind the picture on the wall behind him.
 
I saw on Deviantart that you started working on the card roster for TCG Advanced. Are you gonna reuse the card art from Neo or are we gonna get a whole new fresh spectrum of cards?

Steel Wing always have the -20 damage reduction effect there is no coin flip for his attack to work it always works

Lightning Tackle has 2 bugs one there is no coin flip you always take 20 damage and second the more damage counters you have the more damage this move does so its kinda like 50+ attack plus damage counters and always does 20 self damage without any coin flip.

Sorry about that. Those are now fixed in the latest patch.
 
Love the hack, but it seems like there's a bug with Promo Entei's Pokemon Power. Attempting to use it just shows the text "A basic fire and psychic deck, featuring Cyndaquil".

The other glitch is fixed, but can you describe this Trample glitch in more detail? I can't get it to activate on my end. For instance, what version are you playing and did you beat Gene 4-0? According to your screenshot, he beat you 0-4 so maybe there's an issue with prize counting.
 
Yo, just wanted to say thank you Cataclyptic! For a while now I've been thinking of learning to how to code just to make what you've made. I had a lot of fun playing through!
 
Version 1.41 is now live. Contains bug fixes and switching effect optimizations.

EDIT: Did an emergency edit to 1.41 because Shaoden figured out how to get rid of the incorrect names on damage for switching pokemon before damage effects.
