If you have ever played Fr/LG or Gold/Silver Then According to me would be:
Flying poke: best Pidgeot (ho-oh is useless and slow)
Dragonite is also considerable
Fire type: Cyndaquil(if chosen) but Ninetales is also ok
Water type: Quagsire or Feraligator but Lapras also recomended
Electric: Ampharos the BEST or even Lanturn
