For the past couple of weeks, I have had a simple idea in my head. A Pokemon fan game in which every single Pokemon is viable, in both battle and a contest scenario.
The mascots at the moment are the legendary birds, Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres.
This is a project I am willing to put time into, and I would prefer to work on it alone. The reason I am posting about it here, is to get feedback on current decisions in the game so I can make it as quality and refined as possible. I would also greatly appreciate tips and suggestions from people who have made their own fan games, or are currently developing them.
Here is a list of my current planned features.
Confirmed Features
⦁ Choice between battling, entering contests, and collecting Pokemon
⦁ Include upcoming Sun and Moon mechanics, most notably Z-moves
⦁ Every Pokemon will receive changes to stats, abilities and move pools to either buff or nerf their competitive viability
⦁ Every Pokemon available before post game
⦁ Regional variants
⦁ 16 gyms, 16 contest halls
⦁ Reworked abilities and moves
⦁ Revamped, more in depth contest system
Perhaps this plan is far too ambitious to become a reality, but I do expect it to take a long time to finish either way. Below, within the spoiler tags, are my current changes. Obviously, this is in a very early development stages, and I would absolutely adore to get assistance in this, as it has always been a dream of mine to create a game like this.
