Okay, this is probably a really dumb question, but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere at all.

In the Pokemon World Tournament bracket, the trainers have either a red or blue box behind their names. The distribution is rarely even, and both colors seem to win. What the heck do these colors mean? It's been really bothering me and, again, I haven't been able to find an answer.

Red is female, blue is male.

I kinda shy'd away from the PWT due to my constant failures, but don't the bracket colors represent gender? Blue for boys and red for girls. I think I need to go back and get facewrecked to check on that, though..
