[Other] Pokemon XY: How to get acces to data? (Gateway flashcard)

    Some time I made a hack for White 2 where I simply changed all the trainer battles to triple battles with customized teams, I liked it a lot so I wanted to try doing it with Pokemon X. But I read that you need a gateway flashcard to even be able to edit any data in the rom. Is this true? And if so, does the flashcard have any other uses besides giving you the ability to edit XY roms?
