2nd Gen pokemon yellow raichu

ive only played pokemon yellow once, and at the time i was too young to figure out how to play. all i remember is a pikachu followed you. im curious of what would happen if you evolved the pikachu, would a raichu follow you, or no one would follow you?

The pikachu you get as a starter will never evolve. THe only way to get a Raichu in Yellow is to trade for either another pikachu, or for a Raichu

Raichu is unavailable to Yellow players naturally. Transfer Pikachu to Red/Blue/Green/Gold/Silver/Crystal to evolve it.

When returned, Raichu will not follow you. One exception is if on transfer to a second gen game, the PC cloning is performed on Pikachu BEFORE evolution. Pikachu and Raichu are sent to Yellow game.

Pikachu follows still. Raichu will just be in its Poke Ball. And the second Gen game likely got at least one Light Ball outta the deal.
