2nd Gen pokerus gold

I think i found a easy way to get pokerus. I play my hacked gold on my phone. I only changed the maps and put random pokemon in the gave from pkmn#1-251. I went to the mart to buy some master balls. I kept catching a bunch of pokemon back to back if i already had the pokemon i would just battle. well my exp. bar would not stop going up it kept going until the bulbasar turned into ivasuar level 120. then it asked to learn new moves and such. i went to the pokemon center after that and it told me about the pokemon virus. this has happend twice. what triggers the virus?
