I own a website called PokeSchool and I am deciding to branch out to Poke Community and offer official Pokemon Diamond Hints & Game FAQs.

    About Starter Pokemon
    If You Chose Turtwig
The first gym will be a little bit challenging since Roark's Pokemon are all rock and ground types but the fourth gym will be very easy to defeat if your Pokemon is above level 30.

    If You Chose Chimchar
The first gym will be really hard to defeat because Roark's Pokemon are all rock and ground types but all of the future gyms will be very, very easy to defeat if the Pokemon in your party are high enough levels.

    If You Chose Piplup
The first gym will be really easy to defeat because water types come out on top in ground and rock type battles. You will have trouble with the third and fourth gym a little bit.

Grass is super effective against rock.

Not only do we already have a Quick Guide that serves that EXACT purpose, but you even messed up with your first little "tidbit". As Innagadadavida already mentioned, Grass beats both Rock & Ground, so if you were to choose Turtwig you would not have as much of a problem against Roark.

Oh, and about Chimchar: perhaps you're forgetting how it evolves? Chimchar evolves at Level 14 to Monferno, a Fire/Fighting type, gaining a Fighting-type move at that level. And, as you should know, Fighting is super-effective against Rock.

Chimchar can learn Mach Punch which is super effective on his Pokemon. Chimchar is also a fighting/Fire pokemon as Icha said. It can learn fighting moves which are super effective on his pokemon.

    There, fixed.

I can't see a point to this thread, seeing as we have the quick guide, so...
