While I think they're a good idea and all, and that I use them. I think they're a little overused. It's not exactly a huge problem, but occasionally, I see people who take all the little postbit things (3DS, Xbox, Skype etc.) and put down "don't have one" for all of them. I don't know if others care about this, but I do find it annoying, and somewhat useless for people to tell others in the little postbit that they don't have one.

I think what really gets to me is that the original intent for the postbits is so you can easily let people know what these things from you are, instead of telling people that you don't have one. If it's possible, would some sort of plug-in or something be able to fix this? So like, make it that you must have numbers for Friend Codes, and that email addresses and Skype names etc. must be legit, or be recognisable as as one of those?

Well idk, I kinda like how people can put "PM.Me.For.It@something" or like that in Skype, cause it lets the users know they have that program, but that they don't want it displaying publically. Sure like you said some say they don't have it, but those are usually rare cases (tho I've seen none), and those who like to keep their information hidden, seems more of a disadvantage to them.

Though like you said, how could you recognise Skype names as legit? You could put "none" and the plugin would still see it as legit, so it kinda defeats the purpose imo.

That's a good point about the whole "PM me for it" thing, which does have some sort of effect, but I think what really annoys me is when people have to fill it out just to mention that they don't have it. That's what I find really annoying.

And about the skype thing, idk. I know you can do it with friend codes on the Pokemon games, so I thought it'd be similar to that.

As someone who does this, I personally just do it to show what I have. I have a 360, but no Live, and I have a Wii, but idk my FC and I don't even have WiFi where I live. And I do intend on getting a 3DS, so eventually that will be put in place. I don't see a problem with people having them filled with something other than their gamertag, FC, etc. It's not hard to hover over it and see "well okay they don't even have it filled out correctly."

I don't really see why this is a problem. I see a benefit from someone saying 'not got one' really because they know straight off the bat that someone doesn't have 'X' console; it is also useful for me to see regular members in there and what consoles they have for events.
Without those postbits, Video Games, the board, would be full of people posting their codes and IDs and it would clutter up the board.

I like how it is currently, but that is just my opinion.

Well, you can also know someone doesn't have something by the fact that it isn't shown, which is preferable because it makes sense.

Anyway, there's not really any way around this. :( I guess it probably wouldn't be too hard to implement an option to see them in the postbit or not but we can't really restrict people from putting "don't have one" in all the fields. Admins aren't gonna edit it out and we can't really warn people for it.
