How many cp points does a pokemon power up each time. Is there a set amount or is it different each pokemon.

Oh dear so is there some sort of table or list explaining that or where to see that on the pokemon details

Just power up once and see how much CP goes up. If you power up again you will get almost the same number for the second, third, etc. increase.

A good resource would be the Pokémon GO Gamepress page.

Remember every Pokémon is different. A Bulbasaur's growth rate will not be the same as a Charmander's or Squirtle's. And depending on its IVs, Bulbasaur A's growth rate will not be the same as Bulbasaur B's. On top of that, a Bulbasaur's CP gain from level 9 to 9.5 will not necessarily be the same as its CP gain from level 20.5 to 21.

And on top of all that, all Pokémon have reduced CP gain per half level once past level 30, specifically approximately half of what they would normally gain.

    Here's a sample with Venusaur:

Depending on the Venusaur's IVs, its CP ceiling will vary level to level (with a perfect maxed out Venusaur at CP2580 and the worst Venusaur at CP2212). Because of this, from level 1 to 40, the CP gains for each Venusaur will be different depending on IVs.

Once you figure out the Pokémon's IVs, you can use online calculators like PokeAssistant and use the level slider to move at half level increments to see what the CP gain will be per powerup.
