4th Gen Pre nat dex and post dex pokemon

    Hey,
    this may sound like a stupid question but wanted to know.
    Say i've got a HG/SS and only a prenat dex, but i wanted to trade over a post nat dex pokemon such as Mudkip.
    Would the trade actually work or wont it untill i have the nat dex???

    The trade will work. It just won't register an entry in the Pokedex until you get the National Dex.
     
    Ahhhh thanks. Its just because i want to restart my game but i want to keep some of my pokemon loll... and some are post nat :)

    It works. Totally working fine. In my first game if HG, i evolved my Togetic immediately and in my current game, i have combee in my party
     
    Yeah it work with my main pokemon Blaze after I got my eight gym badge to make the Elite four easy.
