    Ok, my printer is being extremely weird right now, it will not print in black, and it will only print a redish color, so I was wondering how to fix it...

    BTW, my ink cartridges are full

    What model printer is it?
    I don't know a solution now, but I can certainly do some research into it, if you give me some more details

    Well, I dunno, it's an Compaq IJ650 or something like that, very crappy, but it isn't printing, I just put in a new black cartridge ;-;

    Have you got the latest driver package from the website?
    It's good to cover the basics like this first~

    Ok DT look inside near the cartridrge and see if theres something jammed in there. Also there maybe problem with the cartrigdes and are you sure there right for the model you have. Then if isnt the problem see if your cartridges arent leaking or check if the connection from the computer to the printer and see if thats the problem.

    Nope, nothing, wont print in black at all, and the colors come out funky when I try to print in color...

    Hmm... this seams like a problem with the print head. Thats the thing that you put the cartridges into, and then the ink goes on from there. If you havn't used it for a while, usually a bit of ink dries up and clogs it up. To fix this, you have to get alchohol to dissolve it. It might be a bit complex, 'cause I think only a certain type of alchohol works, and another will damage it. My best suggestion is to buy a new print head for the printer. They shouldn't cost more than $20, and most likely a lot less.

    You might wanna do a bit more research on the alchohol technique. It works almost every time with printers that print screwy. I dunno much about it though, 'cause I just replace my print head everytime it screws up. I'v replaced it about 3 times now, bleh -_- I should just get a new printer.. but tis not like I use it much anyway >_> I leach of my schools printers *has found a way not to be charged for printing*

    Ok, I'll try the print head thing, it may be it, if I used alcohol I would end up breaking it :P. Where can you get them?

    If your talking about the print head.. then I really dun know. I know this guy that can get me them.. Maybe you should try searching on E-Bay or printer stores. Or even printer ink specializing stores. Theres also a hotline in the instruction booklet you can call for repairs.

    I realy recommend you try the alchohol method. It's not hard at all. Just get the alchohol into a cup, and dip the print head into it and watch the ink melt away! Just don't get it on the little cirucuit board, it might ruin it. Give it a shot before you go buying a new print head. The alchohol should cost about $2 for a reasonable amount. You just gotta find it first. You might find that in a supermarket.. I really don't know. I don't go shopping often :\

    ONly one problem: What and where exactly is the print head?

    XD

    I already explained what it is. Where?... let me see. Ok, you see the ink cartridges, you see the box thingo they go into? Somewhere in the bottom corner (most likely bottom right) is the print head. That is assuming your printer doesnt have the print head ON the cartridge, but I doubt it 'cause both of yours are screwy.

    If you want, just go to google and type in something related to cleaning the print head. You might find some very good advice. I'm usually not very helpful unless I have the thing in front of me >_>

    Lol, our printer was a piece of crap, we got a new one instead, and this thing is a beast :O. Thanks a lot for trying to help me out though ^^;;;

    Buy a new printer... even I could of thought of that... silly me.:P Buying a better one works just as well. Priters tend to suck majorly unless you paid big money for them. I want one of those huge half-a-metre printers that print 1 page every 2 seconds... mmm.. speed.
