Problem wiht Leaf Green / Fire Red ROMs

My problem is after I beat the Elite Four and go to continue my game it won't let me because of the whole save thing. It's worked before on Emerald and stuff, but it just won't on these games....any suggestions?

Did you try changing your save type to Flash 128K?

In your VBA, go Options > Emulation > Save Type > Flash 128K.

now how will it help like will i be able to save using the save menu in the actual game and thus when beating elite four i can continue my game?

Yeah my game is still making me start a new one in fireRed after beating the game...

Still can't load after the Elite Four, I know this is technically a double post but I could really use some help here...

Perhaps the saving style.. or just the existence of a .sav file when a game begins. Maybe try making a new save game and then stating back to resave over it.
