I'm recruiting for a narrative-driven ROM hack called Project Mew, based on Pokémon LeafGreen/FireRed.
This project explores an alternate version of Kanto filled with strange paths, hidden lore, and broken logic.
What's on the table?
- A distorted version of Kanto: familiar, yet twisted, with a new layout, new lore, and brand-new protagonists.
- All Pokémon are obtainable (no version exclusives, no trade evolutions).
- Unique ways to get the Kanto starters, inspired by Pokémon Yellow.
- Both fossils and both Hitmons can be acquired.
- Secret postgame events involving Mew and Mewtwo.
- A potential secret region: Nexaria — a glitched, corrupted world hiding a very... unusual encounter.
Core Lore Elements (non-negotiable)
Some story beats are set in stone, as they form the foundation of the project:
- Mew is obtainable.
- The story takes place in an altered Kanto.
- There's a strong focus on new lore and eerie encounters.

Open roles:
- Programmers / Event Scripters (FireRed/LeafGreen or decomp)
- Pixel Artists (trainers, overworlds, glitch visuals)
- Co-writers (dialogues, eerie NPCs, item descriptions)
- Testers (especially lore explorers — I'll be one too!)
- Optional: Musicians into ambient/glitchcore vibes
What I offer
- A complete narrative structure ready to implement
- A unique glitch-themed lore base
- Full credit to all contributors
- A respectful, collaborative team environment
- Creative freedom within a stable framework
