Question about move sets after evolution

    I have a Ponyta with 100 IV with Fire Blast (100) as charge move. What is the possibility that the same charge move will be retained when I evolve it to Rapidash? The first one I evolved had Heat Wave (80) as charge move but I cannot remember the previous move set as it has been a while.

    Would the move set assignment after evolution be totally random without consideration whether the previous pokemon before evolution had a pretty good move set?
     
    evolved a 100% iv pikachu. my raichu came out with brick break.

    Like a poster above me previously said, its completely random.
    I have evolved 2 Ponytas, both gave me Low Kick and Fire Blast

    Might do 1 more for that Ember/Fire Blast combo
     
    Whether it's luck or some form of divine intervention, my Perfect Ponyta's move set were Ember and Fire Blast!
